What about the grass? Unfortunately i only had time to do one lap, will try and drive more tomorrow but in that one lap it looked and felt great
I have noticed not all cars, mainly open wheelers, like the ex-Bob's Track Builder curbs. They are too harsh and launch the cars at turns 10 and 11 particularly. So they are being ditched and smoother ones will replace them. It is just not fun and if you look at the real races, they are all over them. Next update lol.
Cool...Bryan was doing aerials off them yesterday that an acrobat would of been proud of.... In the historic F3's.
Doing a little fencing...... This will take some time lol. Did not realize how many fences were at this track.
Working on the Oran Park Kart Center again....trying to get it as close as I can to the real thing. The down side is I do not have photos of all the buildings....so a little imagination..... This is a early Work in Progress....
I purchased the Oran Park version in iRacing today. Did a few laps in the Skippy. It was really good. Lots of grip compared to the RF2 version. But....I paid $16.45 AUD for the track....and it was nice and neat, great looking track and curbs etc....but so many details missing and just plain wrong. Quite frankly, they did a half-arse attempt. I am going to do a video comparing the two - positives and negatives on both sides. The bottom line is....they are a multi-million dollar company, had all the great tools and team....and basically did a second rate version of a great track. This just makes me more determined to do Oran Park justice and try to deliver a great rendition of this fantastic track.
Keeps crashing on my server, loaded an older version by another author and works fine. No idea why just letting you know
I've never been to the real track, but raced the iracing version for a couple of years and so far I like yours much more. I guess laser scan is not everything if you don't add some love to the mix.
Hi Mike, I have been keeping an eye on your progress and it looks good. Can I make a request that some of the apex white lines get the smoothing treatment? There are 2 or 3 corners where the apex white lines are really jarring to the eye and a distraction, I'm not sure if it is a mesh or spline problem nor do I know or understand how to fix it (sorry). It will be great to have loads of detail features like fences and building, however if the part of the track where your eyes are always looking is low quality it really diminishes the quality of the track and all the hard work and time that you have been spending on this. I'm not sure that I have made a good explanation, here is an image of the issue showing the "non smoothed/jaggy" white lines on the apex. Anyway, thanks again for all the great work, my comments are not criticisms, I'd just like to get the very best very of one of my favourite tracks. If there is anything I can do to help let me know.
They are there because it is a conversion from rFactor 1. I will work on those issues. I think maybe redoing the line using a nice smooth spline may be the way....
Laser scan only as good as the person using the information. So many sims have laser scanned tracks and most have some differences.
Just when the server is going it doesn't seem to matter it can and does crash if we are not racing but also when we are racing.
