[REL] Oran Park 2008 v0.73 10/2/16

First up this is a TRIBUTE to what was one of Australia's most technical and challenging tracks, that sadly was demolished in early 2009 to make may for a new housing estate.

Here is a Tribute video for Oran Park and what has helped keep me going.



Most of you interested in this track will know that I have done a conversion of this track already, and maybe thinking whats going on another one...why? Well I was trying to make the that track as accurate as I could but the track it self was in accurate. So I decided to make the track myself and really give a tribute to the track, particularly as I really have a soft spot for this track. I went there a handful of times as a kid and was there at the final race. (just wish I knew then I was going to end up building it when I visited the track) :) The track is loosely based on the final V8 supercar race in December 2008. It was difficult to find most of the sponsors images used back then so I have made majority of the textures. I have used a few ISI objects otherwise I have remade all objects except for a couple which I'm working on.

Cams are done and AIW isn't that bad. I set the AI fast lap and I can't catch them at 120% :) (so I guess thats how it should be)

I'm now at a stage where the track is nearly finished and need the feedback from you guys.

Fixed Aiw crashing at Pit Entry and Bridge Exit
Added Block path to AIW
Fixed flickering on billboard ad signs (fingers crossed marc)
Reduced the flicker on cement wall sponsors
Fixed Latitude & longitude
Changed white levels in some textures
Added night lighting
Added some 3d trees
Optimized the LOD's for better fps

Looks great Nibiru many thanks for creating this splendid track. One question that's probably answered elsewhere, but are you doing all the Layouts or just the main Figure-8 one?

Excuse my ignorance... I had no idea it had been demolished... What a sad thing... Almost as sad as Owl City. I hate him with a passion.
Seriously though that was a nice track! Toca and rF1 exposed me to it way back.
 
Lots of iconic Aussie tracks gone, Adelaide International, Amaroo Park, Canberra Street Circuit, Catalina Park, Longford, Oran Park, Port Wakefield, Surfers Paradise International Raceway, Warwick Farm......

Although technically not gone......Calder Park, with the stock car mod soon, a Thunderdome would be good too lol.

There are a lot of these tracks available for RF1 that could be converted to RF2, especially Warwick Farm and Surfers Paradise etc, just need the knowledge lol, imagine a Tasman series or a Gold Star..............

Very true and slowly some of them are making it into this sim
 
Thanks for all your work Nibs and eagerly awaiting the release of this great track. :cool:

Now if someone could do Lakeside, don't know what happened to Mike Cantwell's effort but there has been no news for ages. :(
 
Found some things that need fixing so unsure of release date but I finally worked out how to do a video so here is one from the cameras

 
Looking good :) there are so many good quality tracks out there, that it's obvious imo that almost only quality tracks are used nowadays.
