[REL] [Open Beta v0.3] Classic Cars Mod

I would expect closed beta testing to start in a month, its up to Petros exactly when but ill keep pushing for the eta.
 
Hey all.

Today we are happy to show off more progress of the 1991 Mazda 787B model which will be featured in the Classic Cars mod. The 1991 Mazda 787B is an iconic model of the very car that won the 1991 24 hour lemans race, the only Japanese car and the only rotary engine car to do so. The model was made by Ionut Nicolaescu and updated by Rico Hotteswitzcsh who also modeled the interior. The livery is painted by Nigel Phelan who has been working tirelessly on recreating this iconic livery.

We would like to further report to the community that the Mazda 787B is planned to be released in the first public beta of the Classic Cars mod (CCM_Build_001). As mentioned by our ingame guru ADUBZ on the ISI forums, the eta for the first CCM build is expected sometime in a month as long as nothing occurs to delay us further.

The CCM Build 001 will be released on rF2 and shortly after on other platforms such as rF1 and RACE07. We are prioritizing rF2 to provide some fresh new content to the game that the community can enjoy.

Below are some renders of the current progress of the livery done by Nigel Phelan. This has been one of the most difficult liveries to recreate and Nigel has done an amazing job. Enjoy!

Nigel Phelan has been hard at work continuing his fantastic artistic skills with the next livery for the Mazda 787B. Also showing some progress on the interior paint as well as the engine. Enjoy!

Petros, Rhys here. I know it's been ages, and I disappeared off your radar for a long time - my life's gotten very busy since I wrote that F1 2007 article for you! But I've been following progress of MAK-Corp's in-progress content from time to time when I can, and I'm always impressed by the stuff you guys are putting out. I can't wait to give this 787B a thrashing around a good racetrack.

Hey Rhys, what a blast from the past man! How are you doing? Nice to hear from you and that your doing well. I hope we can catch up sometime soon man. Great to see you around and just take care of yourself and your family man, that's the most important thing! I still use msn and skype but I don't know if you have me on my main ones. I kinda dropped my old ones several years ago. Great to see you man! :D

The liveries are looking top notch. Great work, looking forward to test it (especially the Miura, to my knowledge nobody produces a Miura for rfactor before because it was almost never raced)...
 
The 787B looks very good Petros. You have three of my four favorite liveries for the car. The fourth one is green and orange also but the green and orange are swapped from the one you have so the front fenders are orange, etc.

that version of the car is 90% finished :)

This rFm menu image for the mod selection part of rF2 was made by Yarach who is also a member here on the ISI forums and offered to help. The rFm shown here is for the F1 1958 class rFm. Three cars will be included in this class, the Ferrari, Cooper and Vanwall. We currently don't have intention to model the other cars in the year, but might do so in the future.

Remember, classic cars and modern cars mods are mods developed with the intention of just adding cars that we and the community like. For ease of access, we place them in their specific class as we have done here for the three 1958 F1 cars. This allows us to ensure cars are in mod/rFm packages that relate to the specific cars in question and not mixing them up with cars that shouldn't be on track with them.
