@Johannes Rojola: Yes we will use whatever real data we can find for the base physics. But lets face it, some of these cars there is just not enough info on and its impossible to acquire it. For cars like that we will have to make do with the best possible data we can get along with the communities feedback. @Salajutsu: Well we want to release a couple cars in the first open beta and then just release packs of cars as they get done.
I know how you feel unfortunately, been there multiple times... You will probably see interest in helping pick up when you release some polished examples of what has been worked on though Dig it
@Salajutsu: Well we want to release a couple cars in the first open beta and then just release packs of cars as they get done.[/QUOTE] Ok, sounds good, especially if you are going to use real data. I'm so excited to try the Miura I could poop gasoline!! One last thing. You mentioned a Pantera early on and thought this would be amazing to have along too. Also because I haven't seen many GOOD TVR's in games, historx aside.
@salajutsu: Damn that looks really nice! If we can get enough references, I'll consider having it made! @motojase171: The R32 Skyline is having its mapping updated so our painters and the community painters can have an easier time painting. In fact, one thing we did which has put all our mods back in development a bit was, we had our painters sit down with our lead 2d director and formulate together a mapping layout that works best for painters. Not only our own painters, but for community painters too. I think all of you will love the template layout for our cars, though it did mean that we have to re-map all our cars which we're currently doing. But the overall result is what counts. We didn't want to provide bad templates especially when there are so many people who like to paint their own cars.
I really hope that this one will surface one day. No Offense, but besides the F1 Mod for rF1, what actually got released were basically just renders and more renders. Would be great if you could shake off this reputation though. Crossing my fingers for this one anyway because i really like those "golden days sports cars", insanely fast machinery. Preview pics show very detailed and high quality models as always.
We are constantly working on it. Keep in mind mods of this form take a HUGE amount of time. Even after the cars are complete, there is a lot of things to do graphically, like a custom .rFm image for each car and class.
Yeah I completely agree with you mate. Its been a long time since we released stuff, that's mainly due to placing paid work and our prototype before mods, those are a tad more important to us. Not to mention, the extra help we've been seeking for the modding side of things would help us complete and get these out sooner, its just no one is stepping up. Someone mentioned the other day that if we released something, it might make people step up. On the flip side of that, if people stepped up to help, they would see the amount of content we have and we could get it released sooner. In any case like Yarach said, there is a huge amount of work to be done, especially for rf2. From what I'm seeing, this will be available in rF1 more sooner then rF2 in my opinion. Though this could work out differently depending how the guys continue to advance on rF2, but right now, rF2 is more time consuming to mod and this is what would delay the mods more, the greater amount of work that would have to go into the rF2 mod. In any case, our in-game guy is working on getting the cars in game and we will have some screenshots soon. Hopefully a beta sometime later. Until we get this car in the way we want it and see how long the other stuff takes, I won't be able to give a time frame for the beta, but will keep you all updated.
This is always the case, and without something to set interest in motion, it's a hard pattern to break Even if people do step up, it's a big question if they stick around because in my experience most don't want to do a lot of work and have weird expectations of what it is to join a mod team... Good luck
Hey guys, still working on things. Just got back online after several days of not having net due to my router dying on me. Anyhow, will update you guys more shortly!
Can the Sauber C11 please sound like this? Or better like this because the sound from the previous video is too flat, although this is a C9: Anyway, i am really looking forward to this
Hey guys. So its time for another update. My apologies for the delay, I had my router die the other week and didn't get back to full schedule until yesterday. Well one of the best news I have to say is that we've hired two new in-game specialists. For those of you who don't know what that means, in-game specialists are people who know how to take a 3D Vehicle model from 3DS Max and place it into rfactor or rfactor 2. The two newcomers who will be named in the near future have started work on adding our cars into rf1 and rf2. This is a great boost for us to get these mods completed and released in open beta's. We also have a number of cars we haven't shown to you all that will be released. Work on the new website was slow during my down time but has since resumed. I am hoping to have the new website open by the end of next week. The new website will include far more details about our mods, a new gallery and wallpapers section, some more interactive content as well as our discussion forums which we hope you will all join. We will have a brand new email newsletter system which will provide styled email newsletters with important news and info you may have missed out if you don't visit often. Things have started to pick up and we're looking forward to providing some new in-game shots for you all very soon! Be sure to stay tuned.
As a special announcement, I am proud to say that we will also be releasing several 1994 F1 cars in this mod. The cars are being re-vamped because the models were done many years ago but are for the most part still great and only need some minor updates. You can expect Williams, Ferrari, Mclaren, Benetton, Lotus and Simtek which are models we have completed and painted in the past but are touching up and re-mapping with new methods so they're easier for artists to paint their own skins on. While these are not so much in the classic nature, the 1994 F1 season is the most remembered season in the history of the sport. We felt it would be a shame for the models to go to waste so as an extra, they will be added to this project.
