    Hi
I have updated my photoshop and are have installed the newest Intel and Nvidia DDS plugins.

I wonder why, when I look into one of my old maps folders, that the DDS files generate thumbnails so I can see the textures, but if I open a file and save it it doesn´t generate a thumbnail.

It seems a bit strange. Does anyone know why this happens?

Thanks in advance for any answer.

When you save it, do you use D3D/DDS as Format or Intel Texture Works (*.DDS; *.DDS)?
If you use the Intel Format, try it with the D3D/DDS Format.
Does it show a Thumbnail then?

    Thanks redapg
I had that option on my old PC with and older plugin, but it looks like that is not compatible with the never Photoshop.
It was also a bit tricky to be allowed to download the never Nvidia plugin, I had to sign up for their developer program.

I will do som test to see if Rfactor2 will accept the new DDS files, I had an issue with a track that wouldn´t load.

It´s always interesting to upgrade, but I still have my old PC. :)

I use IrfanView and DDS Files are associated with it as the default Program to open them.
I see D3D/DDS saved Texture Thumnails as small Textures, but Intel Works... saved Textures are shown as an IrfanView Symbol, because Irfanview has no Plugin to show a Thumbnail for newer Format DDS Files.
So maybe it's something similar for you.

And rFactor 2 should accept newer DDS Formats like BC7 or BC3

    Thanks again
I was hoping it was as you mention, that the files would load OK, and that it´s only the thumbnail that wouldn´t show.

I do some more testing. :)

    Strange.
Rfactor will not load a track with the new files, but 3Dsimed loads it fine.

I will have to do some more testing. :)

And with the old DDS the Track loads?
I suppose that old DDS have been saved as D3D/DDS, right?

The only Situation where i have seen it, was, when i tried to get a Track loading, for someone who still used Windows 7.
With that, new DDS Format couldn't get loaded too.

I got some help on Discord.
If I use the Nvidia plugin and save the DDS file as BC3 (DX5) it will run in Rfactor and also generate a thumpnail. :)
