Next Update.....?

I would rather wait 3 months between builds and let ISI do their thing, in their own time, than have weekly "graphic updates" to an arcade racer like pCARS.

95% of what you listed in those release notes are graphic updates. It's pretty much the same every week (I get weekly builds): all graphics and no guts. It's just a screen shot maker, it's not a racing sim.

ISI are doing real work on a real sim. They are taking their time and doing it right. Not rushing out weekly builds crammed with more and more content and with more and more bugs.

I am perfectly content to wait as long as it takes because ISI are making quality content.

True but you feel like you are a part of the community and you actually feel like they are doing something yes it is has less of a real feel but I feel like I am getting my moneys worth where as here I am not even sure what they are doing, I would just like to see some progression call me old fashioned

A little bit of communication goes a long way. I hope Tim passed on my idea of a monthly write up. Like I said before, even if it were just a few sentences it would reassure people that "yes ISI is still here".

The problem I'm having with rfactor2 is that now half of the estimated beta phase has passed without any significant updates. At first glance the force feedback in rfactor2 is an improvement, but once you drive the cars more often you can't deny the fact that most features are missing or feel very dated.
SRPL shaders for rfactor1 still look better, 3d-models in rfactor2 are far from being impressive, physics are strange, no driver-swap, the modding system is a pain for users and modders ... Considering how long it took ISI to release the current rf2-build what can we expect? Gold release in 2 or 3 years?
And here on the forums there is not much feedback. Only Tim W. and some other not involved in the development (try to) answer some questions. But I feel that many important questions remain unanswered. With pCARS and their community you really feel there is somebody listening to you. It won't be a hardcore sim for sure, but still the way they are keeping in touch with the community is good.

I seem to remember you flaming me for coming up with "your idea" in January... ;)

compare stock to stock, not stock to recent high quality mods, imagine what those guys can do with rfactor 2.

I can deny this fact :) I'm enjoying about many many new cool features in this beta and feeling is really great for me.
And I buy a product for his qualitiy and not if I have a feeling, that somebody is listening to me :)

I think, now you have a problem :D

His expectations seem to be higher than yours. That is not a problem.

I agree that current beta has many weaknesses and not much progress seems to be done in the beta period at this point. We'll see if this will change or whether or not modders can make up to it - i hope so.
