Can I successfully upgrade my Acer 27" monitor to an LG 34"WQ650? I have a GTX1050Ti and Intel i7 920.I play Rf2 quite well at 67 fps right now.

The resolution you're going to use is what matters, not the monitor model or the size.

LG 34"WQ650 is a 1080 monitor like the Acer27 you have but streched
your GPU is weak but still ok for 1080 gaming on medium settings
the good thing is that the LG34 monitor is ultrawide so more FOV for you
try to find a 3060ti second hand or something for a good price if you can ,so you can push more fps on higher quality settings

Yes, you can. Actually you will be able to attain a higher framerate with the new monitor, that's because the monitor you want has a resolution of 2560x1080 = 2 764 800 pixels, which is around 89% of the resolution you're using now that is 2351x1323 = 3 110 373 pixels. This means the gpu will have to draw 11% less pixels.

Only downside is lower pixels per inch although with lower end card not so much a issue.

P.S. I would not recommend a 3060 with that CPU, be huge bottleneck, basically you be paying double for same bang.

So this raises another question for me. With my current Acer monitor am I wasting time rendering rf2 at 2355×1323 using "DSR " on a 1080 monitor?

Indeed , he need to pair the gpu with a cpu which leads to more money for upgrade hardware.
1080 monitor with near 144hz refresh rate is not very expensive these days
