Released NEW! GT3 Pack - Now Available!

With a gtx 1080 you can't have 60 constant and stable FPS with max settings ? I just ask because perhaps I will buy a new GPU and I am very surprise that a gtx 1080 do not make the job correctly.

As always, it depends on track and cars and weather. If you're using only a single screen at 1080p or 1440p, then you will have no trouble. For those of us with triple screens (or single 4k screens), there can be difficulty.

Currently the official combo that's hardest on triple screens is Atlanta Motorsport Park with the Cobra on a rainy day. You'll get less than half the fps that you'd get with Palm Beach and Clios on a sunny day. So if you're not getting 130-140 fps with Palm Beach & Clios, then you won't be getting 60 fps with AMP & Cobras!

That's why I specify the track and corners/grid when I compare fps. The rest of the track does quite well and the average fps may be well above 60 fps, but the minimum fps experienced is actually more important. I've chosen Silverstone International for my comparisons because, even though it is short, it is representative of the fps difficulties across many official tracks and is commonly raced on.

Nice performance improvements!

On my triple screen system, medium post processing DX11, medium shadows, low soft particles, with 2 of each opponent, rolling start at Silverstone International (to highlight fps issues):
  • high opponent detail = low 40s on grid and the tight turns, jumps to mid-50s next lap in those spots if field still bunched
  • med opponent detail = high 40s on grid and the tight turns (briefly!), jumps to over 60 next lap in those spots if field still bunched
Always over 60 fps with the field spread out. By choosing medium opponent detail, there is a 10% fps boost when most needed without significantly losing details.

This is much better than the mid to high 30s for the lowest range of fps I was seeing when the Powerpack was released.

Do you happen to have a few comparison screenshots about the detail difference between the opponent detail settings?

Sorry, no, but you can easily try the experiment yourself. All I can say is that I can't notice the difference when racing, but you might notice differences when comparing still pictures.

This is why I asked because I can't tell the difference during racing. :D But since you emphasized "without significantly losing details" thought you actually know the difference lol. :D

Note that you can select detail of car (polycount) and texture quality of cars independantly in player.json!
When you just select detail level mid or low in menu, textures (skins) will also be lower quality (normaly).

Whats a bit or a bit more dissapointing is the high GPU load compared to the very good looking EGT mod.
With the EGT, 29AI Portugal, 5040x1050, 1070GTX, 3770k @stock, last position in grid i got 57ps with 65% GPU load in CPU limit
With the S397 GT3 i only got 45fps with 100% GPU load whats means the system runs in GPU limit.
I nearly double GPU oad is not really acceptable for me and i can´t understand that S397 keeps the path of unoptimized content after launching the GT500 which introduced high GPU load content with all the following comments and criticism

I still have to determine that the framerate is at that low level like before. I am using med shadow setting. Maybe it could be better with high or above but, even with medium shadows the performance is not goog enough so there is no headroom for higher settings and optimisations of them

Finished painting the Corvette, You can find it at this link here where all my skins are available. ENJOY!! :)

Just to inform other users :

To get the latest update of GT3 power pack, I had to go in the "inventory" of my steam and to unsuscribe + suscribe again to each cars of the pack..... steam problem or is it is linked to S397 ? Not the end of the world but....

Hope it will help people.

To those of you that are doing paint kits for the cars:

Is it possible to create a thread with your work, with one post where you post a single link with updates and such?

Cheers

At the top of my post is my link to "all of my paint jobs not just GT3's", since this a GT3 paid pack thread, I don't believe I'm off topic.

Thanks but that's 100+ pages. I was asking specifically for the GT3 Pack Skins, on a more organized way.
There's only a few skins available, there are issues with v1109 and the Mercedes paint. If you want to see my Mercedes in game you'll need to have v1108 installed. The skins "Thread" as far as I know has no skins for the new GT3 PAID Pack. That's why you'll find some here. I responded to your other post, I was not meant to be rude. Why don't you create a Thread in the Modding section Called, "Post GT3 Paid Pack Skins Here" then you might start a collection. Post a link to it here and I'll be glad to post my cars over there to get the ball rolling.
