Released NEW! GT3 Pack - Now Available!

So the wait is over,yeah!
I was on dx9 until this morning,so started steam and it started downloading 1gb of updates.
I already bought the Gt3 pack back in Sept. so in this 1gb of updates is the Gt3 pack included?
Do i have to do something else to download the rest of the cars?
Thanks S397,keep up the great work!

Thanks S397 for the release, I look forward to driving them later, my initial thoughts on the Cars/Build:

- McLaren 650S, obviously knew about this one.
- Bentley, can't wait to give this a whirl, it looks fab!
- Corvette, mmmmmmmm V8 'nuff said
- Mercedes, Nice surprise and a car I really like the look of.
- Radical, Was not expecting this one and yet there it was right in front of our faces all this time with its little brother already released!

Looking forward to the new Damage effects and Window shaders, shame the Rain update is not ready yet as that would've tied in nicely with this release, but as ever better ready than rushed :)

First impression:

Cars drive and look good, but weird to see another Radical in the mod as there was already a Radical mod released by S397.

The carskins need to be more balanced:
Bentley - 1 skin
Callaway - 1 skin
McLaren - 20 skins
Mercedes - 1 skin
Radical - 4 skins
I'd say 6 skins per car would be fine to make a grid of 30 different cars.

Carstat tool (to see carspecs) doesn't work on all cars; works fine on third party mods.
Therefore I can't tell if the mod is suitable for Endurance races.

It would be nice to see all cars combined into one mod, as all seperate cars looks a bit crowdy in the in-game car lobby.

Are the S7/8/9M the dry tyres and the P2M the wet tyres? Not clear at the moment.

Have to give it a thorough test, but the above named 'issues' being patched would be welcome.

Thanks S397, great job so far! Hopefully this contributes to have the game come alive again.

Yeah, it does look weird to have them scattered around but then again they tend to separate cars by manufacturer and there's tons of older GTs out there already so it's probably the best option to have them like this.
As for skins, well, I guess we will have to wait a bit longer for that, so long as we have the templates available to us it's not a big deal.

Hi,I am running a dedicated server for our online-league.
Now I have a question ,which is ,how do I set up my dedicated server with the GT3 pack? I dont think that will be as same as other third-party contents which just simply uploaded the rfcmp files to server and install it and all set.

Please read these threads: They should get you started :)

Why, if I may ask ? GT3 spec. is designed to use both.
"Boss" is like that, hardcore, that the true character of the car is brought out without driver aids.
We run a series like that with the 650S and it went fine, for a sprint race at least driver aids aren't needed.
The idea this time out is to do five 30 min sprint races where people can race all the different cars in preparation for an endurance series at the end of the year, where car choice will be locked.
Then we may perhaps use some TC and ABS, but always on low I guess.
I will have a talk with simracing-GP about this again, I am all for hardcore but the BoP of the cars may get affected by not running driver helps.
At the end of the day we already run two rookie leagues, these GT3s we aim at drivers with some experience and they will cope with whatever you throw at them.

Nice job of the GT3 pack S397....Thank you!
What is happening with the builds, 1108 or 1109?

Edit
Ignore the build question 1109 now showing up.

According to the News Release, the update to 1109 seems to be mandatory for supporting the new shaders (scroll down to New build).
  • Added: An extended visual damage model featuring a combination of dents, scratches and cracks on the bodywork of cars, which has been implemented on the GT3 pack.
  • Added: New window and headlight glass shader that produces more realistic reflections. All five GT3 cars use it.
  • Added: Controller Profiles for Thrustmaster T-GT, T-GT Ferrari F1 Addon, TS-XW, TS-XW with Ferrari F1 Addon.
  • Added: Updates to the CPM model.
  • Fixed: Various small fixes to the no rain zone code that prevents rain from entering closed cockpits.
  • Fixed: All controller profiles default inputs are now assigned to JOY1.
  • Fixed: Bumped the rFactor 2 version for multiplayer compatibility to 1109 because of the new visual dents that required changes to the multiplayer protocol.
