Need help with a Virtual Mirrors problem

A friend of mine is having trouble with the virtual mirrors.
When he moves his seat position his view in the virtual mirrors changes too.
This moves the mirrors to where they are no longer useful.
I am unable to recreate this on my install.
How do we link / unlink seat from virtual mirrors?

Mirror Adjusting & Tips

Mirrors are adjusted using combinations of your keyboard Ctrl, Alt and Shift keys and the (user assigned) in-game seat adjustment controls: Fore, Aft, Up and Down.
To avoid confusion I have used the in-game names, Fore, Aft, Up and Down and not any user assigned controller/keyboard buttons or keys.
When using Ctrl and/or Shift it doesn't matter if you use the left or right...

I am familiar with all of the mirror adjustment keys,
I have tried setting "Moving Rearview" to 0 and 1
This does not cause the mirrors to move with the seat adjustment keys.
Note that the mirrors are moving with no modifier keys held while moving the seat.

Oh, ok. I haven't touched that setting for... well, possibly since rF1 to be honest, but I thought there was one that made the mirror static (not linked to seat position), and assumed that was it based on the guide.

I had my friend check the "Moving Rearview" setting. It was = 3
Setting it to zero fixed the problem.
I should have tried all of the settings but did not.
