Since a few days, my cockpit view is not what is was anymore: From now on I sit on the floor watching mostly the ceiling. This is after I choosed another circuit and car, nothing else. I moved back to the previous track and car, but it did not help. When I adjust FOV and seat position forward, backward, up and down, it is still so much ceiling in the view, that can't be the purpose. However I see no option for 'tilt', or simillar. That is a pity, especially since that was not required before. I hope there is a solution for this, since I just planned to buy some expansion packs.
@Marcel Koning I would try moving your controller.json file (in Userdata\player) to another folder or your desktop (just somewhere you can find it later) and start the game again. It will make a fresh one. If your issue goes away that means you have a control assignment issue, and can either reassign all your controls again, or work out what's wrong with the original file. If not, we'll have to keep searching.
thank you for looking. There is also a file called all_vehicles.ini found in \rFactor 2\UserData\player This shows your seat positions, mirror settings and SeatPitch for every car you have. Might be easier just letting rfactor make a new one by you deleting it or moving it. If it does not fix the issue, I have no more ideas for you. Good luck.
Now that's typical: I removed the json-file from the directory, have one now for spare, started up the game, filled in my 'new' credentials and experience the same effect(!).
Maybe I'm talking nonsense. Have you tried using the keys that adjust the FOV with the Shift key?. This should change the angle from which you look at it.
I didn't read all Posts, but if you didn't do it already, before you start rFactor 2 rename the Folder ..\rFactor 2\UserData to get a complete fresh one and then try it again.
New credentials? If I'm not mistaken moving the controller.json will only make the game create a fresh version of that file. It shouldn't have you entering anything except assigning any driving controls etc. Since we're this far in you might as well do what @redapg suggested and start with a whole new UserData, to cover many bases at once. I suspected a controls issue so was targeting that one file.
Dear all; Thank you all for your support! The shift-key's didn't solve it, I tried so many things, but I think by moving the player.json in and out, it did some reset, I don't know for sure. However, my 'normal' view is back From now I can have a realistic look by having mapped FOV and the seat adjust-keys.
