How does one setup a multi-class race with the AI on rFactor2? I can get all the cars on the track at the same time by simply selecting the different car types but I have no control over how many of each car are on track and it doesn't setup different classes... Would like to do the following: - Classes (I have achieved getting these cars on track at same time) 1) Nissian GTR (GT1) 2) Corvette (GT2) 3) Clio Cup (ST) - Rolling start with the different classes rolling in together in groups (as you would see in ALMS or Grand Am). - Timed race of whatever length (60 minutes or whatever) (I have achieved this) - Results showing who won each class after race * Side note: How do you control the speed of the pace car? It was running full race pace around the track during the rolling start and the full course yellows...
Add more and then boot them, with the current UI. For the classes to be in order, a decent length qualifying session. I am hoping we'll see some changes in the UI in this area.
Yes very good to hear, I've made a vmod for my gt racing which works ok. One thing is booting and adding ai, would be better to select number of class cars in the opponent selection screen, posted similar in the wish list forum ages ago amongst other ideas related to class racing.
Maybe we can have an "Automatic" button, where the PC chooses like MarcG suggested (for quick races) and a "Manual" button where a (big) window appears, where we can select multiple (not one by one) from all cars (best sorted in categories) by checkbox which cars/drivers appear at the session(s).
Don't forget to actually group the classes together in the results screen ... or at least add a second column that says what place you finished in in your class. Maybe someone can make a multi-class racing UI Mod?
"I hope" doesn't mean by default we get an update there. But the user interface really could get a little refreshment. It look's a little old compared with Assetto Corsa TC which is stylish and also useful.
Yes but it's an awkward way of doing it, as above a better by class selection area is needed before loading the track
I think someone could mod up a better interface, I believe ... There is a UI selector thingy and a section on these forums for UI modding... Not sure it would add rule selections that arent there now, but it could make a pretty one perhaps
Holy thread resurection. The simplest thing which I asked about in the past would be the ability to save a grid. I have 11 GTPro cars with correct skins and driver/team names, and 3 Prototypes. Right now, manually adding them is the most consistent way. But these 14 cars are not changing every race, so if I could do it once, and save the grid as some kind of default selection... that'd be the ticket.
You could start a race, quit and exit to main menu. Now via the replay, you can re-join the same grid as often as you like. I'm also a fan of endurance racing. Problem here: with more than 60 cars of different classes (as frequently run in e.g. Tudor-United Sportscar Championship, VLN or 24h-Races) you end up at the 32bit SysRam limit on high texture quality settings. In fact, we would need a 64-bit plugin for that. I read about one in the Nordschleife-Modding thread, but I assumed that was only for Dev-Mode/Track-Creator if I got it right??? (Tim?)
Interesting idea. If you make a replay from practice, does it store settings for the next two sessions? 64bit is coming.
or simply enough, in the opponent screen the ability to choose actual single cars in a series rather than the whole series?!
I havn't tried that myself but then I save Real Road a lot so if I want to skip straight to Qually or Race I just load the desirable Real Road file to suit.
