I assume we'll be able to see some community car and track mods during the beta period?

Yes. Some of the documentation isn't ready yet though, and the scene viewer will be available soon.
Modders should be able to get started though :) .

I took a quick look at one of the mass files and tryed to open the gmt files with simed, without success.

I saw there are some plugins for 3d max, but i dont own it and never worked with 3d max...
Are there other programs witch can open and save the rf2 gmt files ?

Anybody that relies on simed will need to wait for a newer version of it to alter files. Other then that, you just put them in the same way for the most part if you are just modding. Just goes in the documents/rfactor2/moddev folder, but you have to pack everything into mas files for it to work.

hey new to 3Dsmax, what all do i need to open my rF1 cars in max to convert them to rF2 gmt's.?
and where do i add them... maybe a tut on getting a car started with 3Dsmax would be helpful for 1st time 3Dsmax users.
