Problem is that the modders have to deal with a far away from ideal situation. And the way things look now people seem to expect a solution from them. Depending on the point of view it might have been a smart move from ISI to separate the community and this might lead to the workshop being the winner in the end. Imho there is one very important point even modders cannot ignore. Now that there is steam almost all the sales will be made there. So the workshop will grow and I am almost 100% sure that mods that are in the workshop will get a lot more downloads and attention. You could just ignore that but if your plan is to reach the maximum amount of people you shouldn't. The uploads from people that have nothing to do with the mods will not stop and the only way to have full control over your download stats and comments is to upload the stuff yourself .
