Here's one for you, does anyone know if RFactor 1 supports quad core systems? Would be nice to know it doesn't actually and i'll get more perfomance from RFactor 2........one can dream anyway :- )

It's been asked and answered in the first two pages of this thread. ;)

Only runs on two cores which I'm sure pisses at least one person off but as Tim says rF2 will be in development for years to come so maybe in the future this will change.

He's specifically asking about RF1, which only uses one core.

I know because testing my new RF2 PC, RF1 maxes core 1 out at 100% and the other 3 cores sit there napping :p

    silly you :p

but seriously, he IS comparing it with how rF2 will be, so in my opinion it is relevant.

as probly mentioned somewhere b4, rf1 will use all the cores if u add +fullproc at the end of the desktop shortcut,eg("D:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor\rFactor.exe" +fullproc).................. could add it to any application ;-)

It works as should - you won't make rFactor beeing a dual/triple/whatever threaded application by adding that extension. On some setups you will get more boost than on others. What it does, is "splits" one thread across all available cores. When you sum up, you will still get CPU usage about like you have without that parameter.

Yes, depends on setup... but I often get close to a 100% FPS boost with it on.

    AMD CPU? :)
I have found much lower performance on AMD compared to Intel (X220 vs G6950) without fullproc. When with it, performance boost was much bigger on AMD (but Intel was still noticably faster). On i3 2100 there is about 10-15% perf. boost (if I remember correctly, as I've done those tests some time ago).

    No, quad core intel.

As we've both said... it varies...

We've seen reports of someone having a barely playable experience with a far superior CPU and an only slightly inferior GPU (4530 mobile). I'm not sure it'd be a worthwhile experience.

Hi, I'm new, I have a Notebook with Intel Core i3 and a video card Intel HD with 763MB, why my rF2 beta works slow? I don't know, i have superior requirements than the minnium. Thanks!

You don't have superior requirements :).

Your laptop won't be able to run rFactor 2 (playable at least).

You really don't - Intel GPUs are in no way, shape or form capable of matching an Nvidia or ATI card, thus your GPU is well below minimum requirements and we'd need more details on your CPU and RAM to know if it actually measures up.

The minimums/reccs posted will be fairly accurate once the guys have a chance to look deeper into the various hardware having issues. Some people are close enough to the minimums (or below them) that they'll not get rF2 running now or later, but some well above those minimums are suffering with performance from the fact the software requires further testing. So their experience should change.

If you are close or under the minimums, I wouldn't recommend trying as the posted specs are there for this reason.

I've decided against buying rf2 until the demo comes out to see if I can run it. What do you guys think? Thanks

I am using a Dell studio laptop

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz
Display adapter type ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 (GDDR3)
Total available graphics memory 2234 MB
    Dedicated graphics memory 512 MB
    4 gb DDR3

I would say hard on border. I had a desktop with 4870/1GB VRAM, AMD PhenomII 940 Quad/3 GHz, at the moment 70 FPS with low grafics offline. Online with 10 oponents in Monaco 20 - 30 FPS without HDR. I think you can go for offline, but I´m afraid no fun online with your laptop...
