woohookid is correct! If it's licensed, it's a cool story.
while this is a very cool mod it does beg the question what ever happened to the fully licenced version that s397 had back when the btcc content was announced. I remember at the time Traxxion reporting on the btcc release and in the same article announcing that s397 had secured and were close to an official release of the jcw uk car.

On another note. I have tried it and i *whispers* have to play on gamepad currently due to an ongoing back injury and i find it feels like you dont have enough lock on some corners then others its so twitchy you go into the typical mini cup car bounce and slide and if you dare correct it will ping you off into the nearest wall. Although being that i follow BTCC closely i gather that the real cup car can be quite bitey when it gets sideways.
 
What happens when you set the TOE OUT on the front wheels to 0 (zero)?

(Please Google what Toe In and Toe Out does on a car ).
first test, I reduced both front and rear toe by about 1/2. The result was it still grabs the wheel slightly on the straights. I'll zero it out next time.

reduced both front and rear toe to zero and still had slight grabs at the wheel on straights. Not as strong but still there. There used to be a term, I have completely forgotten now, that described the tire's return to center motion. It feels like a deadzone when neutral and then a sudden pull to the left or right when something, perhaps road surface undulations, exceeds that deadzone.
 
Some of the comments on the steam workshop page for this mod wind me up so much. Clearly some people have never watched these cars race for real or watched any onboards to see how much they move about and really are stupidly lively on the rear end and just how much they bounce around.
 
I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but.. Copying the physics from the clio 2010 almost identically and editing some parameters is not really a special effort and it can't be better than what it represents now, and also putting the rotation of the steering wheel as if it were a go-kart and in real life the car has a rotation almost three times greater.. The car is a fiction and there is not much connection with the real car except for the appearance.. Sorry, but rfactor 2 deserves better. Although I appreciate your effort and idea, you should try a little more if you love what you do and not recycle the same physics over and over again.

Honest question, have you driven the real life car? We need information from people who used the real competition car.

Given your obviously extensive expertise, I'm sure it won't be much trouble for you to create a physics update for the Minis that meets your standards. I'm already looking forward to it. ;)

Why do you think we didn't do much but just copying the Clio 2010 physics? That's obviously not true, the car doesn't share a single thing with Clio 2010.

Fair point, the MINI is based on Clio RS Cup V car that we made back in 2023 which was based on 2010 Clio. But what about the rest? Obviously the car's tire model, chassis and suspension geometry, brakes, aero and weight balance, fuel tank - all of it was made from scratch. All of it combined makes the car feels nothing like the Clio 2010, and some calculations like steering shaft axis doesn't make it the same.
