Mills needs some turn names + 66 Monaco turn names...

This isn't #1 on my list, but eventually I am going to need some turn (or maybe straight) names for Mills (and any other fictional tracks we release). This not only helps with any track guides, descriptions, etc, but also will help leagues and broadcasters.

We'd welcome any suggestions, and I have numbered them on the attached image. Feel free to use real objects at the track for naming, such as the wooded area perhaps being "Forest Turn" or turns with a particular sponsor on a bridge, etc. And feel free to try naming a turn after yourself :)

Also, can anyone confirm I have the correct 1960's names for Monaco turns:
Sainte Devote
Casino
Mirabeau (and Mirabeau bas underneath it).
Station hairpin
Portier
Tunnel (did it have a name back then?)
Chicane (was it anything other than chicane in 66?)
Tabac
Gasometer hairpin

Just if you know, no need to spend huge time on research. :)

I believe 'Gasometer' hairpin was actually called Gasworks hairpin, could be wrong though.

On the subject of turns being named would really love 'Kenny Curve' to make it in there, I would be very happy, lol. ( My Surname)

Turn 11: Schumaker

Turn 13a: Matchett

Turn 9a: Dylan Bend
 
Turn '11' is probably the most difficult corner in rF2 at the moment (at least in my opinion), especially when going for the limit. It is so difficult to have both your braking, and the line correct, and yet it is a point were you can win or lose a lot of time. That's why I think turn 11 should be called "the Needle". Because for a good lap, it is critical to 'thread the Needle' ;)

This is a general suggestion: I'd hate to be accused of being unimaginative, but it could be helpful to add a compass to fictional track diagrams. Cardinal directions might aid in naming corners, straights and chicanes as well as helping with descriptions, track guides and race narrations, etc. (I assume a compass would be best be oriented to accurately reflect how the sun moves through the sky as the time of day progresses.)

I'm not sure how much of a mixture of actual and anglicized names you want for Monaco. It probably depended on the journalist as to how one saw it or heard names of the circuit's features in the day.
Gasworks Hairpin, Gasometer hairpin, Gazometre corner and the French "Gazomètre"; take your pick.
The Chicane appears to have been commonly labeled as "Chicane du port" as well as simply Chicane.
The Station Hairpin in French was "Virage de la gare" or simply "Gare".

1 - Daytona -- 'cause you turn left.
2 - The Esses -- 'cause they're the closest things we have to proper esses; and it seems like American tracks (i.e. Limerock, Watkins Glen) use the generic "The Esses" name--as opposed to Senna Esses, etc.
3 - The Big 3 -- in reference to "The Big 3" car manufacturers in the US, and it's turn 3.
4 - Hollywood -- 'cause this turn can make or break a lap.
5 - Andretti -- 'cause it's fast like Mario.
6 - Late Breaker -- I don't know what a Late is or why it gets broken, but I kinda somewhat sorta like this play on words.
8 - Washington Hairpin -- 'cause Mills is in Virginia...and Washington was a guy who lived there...and it's a hairpin turn.
10-chic - The Jefferson Chicane -- 'cause Jefferson was another guy who lived in VA. Plus, it kinda sounds like Jefferson Airplane--who were a band.
10-nochic - Indianapolis - 'cause it's fast and banked.
11 - Carousel Spoon -- 'cause it's a combination between a spoon and a carousel...yeah, that's pretty bad, but maybe someone will be inspired by it. I've just been calling it 'The Spoon'. Maybe 'Gut Check'? Or perhaps Hill (named after Phil)--also 'cause it's about the only elevation change on the track.
15 - Swap Meet -- There's always some paint being traded here, it seems.
17,18 - The Gurney Flap -- 'cause you go flip-flap through this chicane.
21 - Ol' T-1 -- 'cause it used to be Turn 1.
22,23,24 - The When-We-Gonna-See-This-Layout? Complex -- Name says it all :)

Mills City, Virginia (fictional)
would be fitting to use names of famous places, land marks etc. from the State.
"Clinch" river, Potomac, Monticello "straight", Arlington "bend", Bull Run...
just some thoughts.
 
Yep the hairpin at Monaco was most commonly called Gasworks hairpin, or sometimes Gasworks bend.
Now for the Mills corners how about.

8. Ascari
9a&b. Vanwall

Some good ones, some not so good. ;) I especially like Ratzenberger, very nice thought.

Thanks for the info on the Monaco hairpin, too. The ref I found called it that, it probably is a French-English translation difference.
