Released McLaren Historical Racecars!

An experienced driver at the top of his sport with a team backing him to review telemetry data to extract the last of the performance with the distraction of an accident at any point vs an enthusiastic amateur spending as much time as they are able to on their own with a simulator that tries to get as possible to the same conditions but without the fear of running into a tree.

I think there are too many unknowns on both sides to calculate what the difference should or shouldn't be to any accuracy. All I know is that that the chance they would be the same are small.
Yeah but i imagine how much Alonso would complain about the reliability of the simulator if he getting slower irl for about 5sec, lets say as example

I recall somewhere Fillipe Masa saying he didn't like using the simulator or only used it upto a point as he learned habits that couldn't be used on the track. To me that means he thinks there is sufficient difference and they weren't then at least as accurate as he would have liked. As posted above my understanding is that simulators are used to better understand new pieces of kit bolted onto the car be it areo or suspension gear ratio etc. In which case the actual time doesn't have to relate to the track exactly only repeat-ability and the % time improvement for any change on the car.

Also the level of rubbering on the track would have match exactly as well. I think we on early days of track evolution on simulations.

Considering where we have come from in a few years just to be debating how close modern "games" are to real life is something that wouldn't have happened 10 years ago. It would have been assumed that there were differences even if the times matched.

I found this amazing. And with better vr headsets and sim motion rigs.... Sometimes i wish i was just 10 or 15 years younger just to enjoy even more the new technologies. It really impress me all the discussion about simulation/real life

Hi,(the wheel goes in the air)does this happen to me or someone else? Thank you

nobody helps about this?

You need to provide more information. Is this from an online session or a reply? Both can have lag. Is the car using the default setup or did you change the suspension? Is it only happening on third party tracks like Adelaide?

@stonec online, and offline the same thing happens, I think as I said above, it was the aleron going up, the official tracks pass the same, the only thing I was hoping that studio 397 was to look at that error, to go with the front wheels in the air. regards

Can I quickly say that I love the fact that there is an actual texture on the mirror-glasses, so it doesn't look that artificial?!

A big thumbs up! I hope this will be standard for all cars in the future.
