DESCRIPTION

Matsusaka is popular Japanese circuit based on a figue-8 layout. Opened in the 1960s, it hosts top level open-wheel and GT events, and slower cars can be accommodated on two shorter alternate layouts. Minor layout revisions in its history have added three chicanes, and all currently possible layout variations are available in-game.

CONFIGURATIONS

Matsusaka for rFactor2 features eight layouts. Grand Prix, International, and East layouts support 54 garage places. West layouts support 21 garage places. All layouts are equipped with trackside lighting suitable for night racing using headlights.

Grand Prix - 5.81 km / 3.61 miles
The main figure-8 circuit as used for Grand Prix racing, with appropriate additional trackside details, and freshly painted kerbs and white lines.

International - 5.807 km / 3.609 miles
The main figure-8 circuit as used for GT endurance and sprint events, with some variations in trackside details.

International (Old Chicane) - 5.82 km / 3.61 miles
The base figure-8 circuit, but using the tighter original final chicane.

International (West Chicane) - 5.82 km / 3.61 miles
The base figure-8 circuit, but adding a chicane after the hairpin in the Western half of the circuit.

Motorcycle - 5.83 km / 3.62 miles
The base figure-8 circuit as used for motorcycle racing, which uses the Western chicane, and the tight final chicane.

East - 2.240 km / 1.391 miles
A shortened layout using only the Eastern half of the circuit, joined by a tricky variable camber final turn.

West - 3.47 km / 2.160 miles
A shorter version of the base figure-8 layout, based around an alternative start and pit complex in the Western half of the circuit. A short link road bypasses the final chicanes and the Eastern half of the circuit.

West (West Chicane) - 3.48 km / 2.16 miles
The West layout with the addition of the Western Chicane after the hairpin.

Steam is downloading it as we speak.
Don't think I'll be able to fit in a test drive til after Le Mans but huge thanks to ISI and woochoo for what I'm sure will be a great track.

Yeah, very handsome track. But a couple of fps drops around the track and some stutters for me, but very much enjoyable.

Great track, good job. About the GPU and memory usage, it is very high, I had to lower all video settings. With 30 AI it used 6 GB of RAM.

EDIT: It looks like it's very late on afternoon unless you set the race at 2:00 PM

I love having all these variations to choose from! No severe AI problems, though the historics have the usual slowdowns so car specific PATHs would be appropriate. Not too fond of the trackmap nor the standard ISI shrubs. Got a chuckle over seeing FOOD/DRINK sign on a concession stand and pondered whether it's in English at Suzuka, too.

As if I needed one, here's the excuse for upgrading from 970 GTX to 1080 GTX sooner rather than later <ahem>. Not experiencing stutters, just lower framerates. Could turn down details, etc., but that's no fun, not with such a rich track environment, so better GPU is always worthwhile.

Many thanks to all involved! I'm certain Matsusaka will see lots of seat time.
