http://www.3dtotal.com/index_tutorial_detailed.php?id=473&catDisplay=1&roPos=1&page=1 This link will redirect you to this very nice low poly character modeling and texturing tutorial. I found it too useful for my personal 3d viz work and may help in many ways modders interested in making pit crew, etc. regards!
That's cool; filed away for future reference I fired up Shift 2 again last night, just out of curiosity and to check my recollection of how the crowd was modelled, as in my memory the moving crowd, marshals, etc. added a very definite 'something' to the immersion factor. It may have been like driving a holed speedboat, but the environment still felt as alive as I remembered Would love to see the odd low-poly, animated character in amongst the static 2D crowd - would make a difference (in my opinion). Also, a bit of improvement to the marshal models wouldn't go amiss - they look a bit alien-like if you look at them close up. Shift does them very, very well, although I don't know what they do resource-wise, although they can't be that hungry, can they? Disclaimer: I realise that the above is not everyone's cup-of-tea
The only thing I dont like about rF2's graphics right now is the 3d characters. IMHO they have not the same level of quality of the rest of the content. I do not know if they are meant to be improved before final release, anyway! Regards!
