Beautifull!! Is this a hint for something? At 2.55 Mr Brundle says : " ---- (?) gearbox. You have to use it seqentially." I suppose he means clutchless changing?
Seems like a totally different animal to classic F1's we have, ie, Brundle described it as tractable and he wasn't working the wheel much, looked like he was driving a modern OWer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-crz3jYqogo&feature=related 2nd time this car is described as nimble.....can't say the same about rf2 F1....
I'm sorry but for one Martin Brundle was no way pushing that car there like they did under race conditions back in the 60's. It was also on a modern track surface in comparison to the slippery and bumpy surfaces of the 60's. In no way would Brundle of been allowed to push that anywhere near what it was capable of. Pointless comparison
That was the norm. Also saw a video of Tiff Needel in the 49, shows how the steering axle goes between the driver's legs. No way to left foot brake in that thing. =)
This is the video you guys are talking about. @3.30 you'll see why you couldn't left foot brake in this car. @4.50 he mentions how he appreciates the drivers for having to caress the car. If the OP thinks these cars were a "gripfest" I'm wasting the wear and tear on my keyboard writing any response to him.
Congrats, you are possibly the only man on earth who can read how much throttle at which rpm driver used based on a demonstration video on youtube where driver doesnt even drive at racing speed .
Yeah the 60's they used to run upto 2 or 3 races on them i think and also Senna and co were still drifting them in the late 80's early 90's.
