    Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out to the rFactor 2 community in search of a plugin or solution that allows me to download race data for races that involve only AI drivers. Specifically, I'm interested in capturing data such as Leaders, Lead Changes, Lead Lap Cars, Race Passes, Position Passes, Race Passes Top 5, Race Passes Top 10, Margin of Victory, End Under Green, Crashes, Crash Laps, Total Caution Laps, Pack Distance 1-5, Pack Distance 1-10, Pack Distance 1-15, Avg. Speed, Total Laps, Fastest Lap and Top Speed.

Additionally, I'd like to know if anyone is familiar with how to create and manage a race like this, including how to trigger a yellow flag on a specific lap, introduce a safety car, and set tire strategies for the AI drivers.

Any guidance, suggestions, or pointers on where to find such a plugin or how to accomplish these tasks within rFactor 2 would be greatly appreciated. I'm eager to enhance my simulation experience and gather in-depth race statistics.

Thank you in advance for your assistance, and I look forward to hearing from you all.

    Best regards,

You don't need a plugin. The game saves Results log files, and you can use various tools to process those for information. You'll find the log analyzer in this same forum section, for example.

You are a little limited on customizing AI strategy (rF1 had some scripting ability that's not in rF2).

And usually it's best to do this on a dedicated server (Not single player mode) to allow you to call things like safety cars via chat admin commands.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response and the valuable information you provided. It's good to know that I can access race data from the Results log files and utilize log analyzer tools.

I have a few more questions, if you don't mind:

    1. Is it possible to download other types of race data, apart from what's available in the Results log files, such as telemetry data(I already downloaded DAMPlugin) or more detailed driver performance statistics?

    2. Could you please guide me on how to set up a dedicated server exclusively for AI races in rFactor 2? I'm interested in learning how to manage race events and AI behavior in such an environment.

    3. Regarding AI strategy customization, are there any specific maneuvers or commands that I can use to adjust their strategies during the race, and where can I perform these modifications within the game?
Your insights and assistance are greatly appreciated. I'm eager to explore the possibilities within rFactor 2 and enhance my simulation experience.

Thank you once again for your help.

    Best regards,
    Domenico

@Domenico1 I can't personally guide you through all that - there's a lot to learn and discover, and there'll be lots of information on this forum that'll help too (you'll need to try and find stuff related to things like running a server, getting AI to qualify and race properly). I'm helping basically with some high level info so you know what you're going to be able to do, or not.

AI strategy, unless I'm mistaken, is very limited. There may be a couple of ways of having cars use different starting fuel, but you can't make them do anything live - either by admin command, or by plugin (actually a plugin has no AI control - which is why I said you don't need a plugin). In rF1 you could specify pit strategy (and car failures) per driver in the track files, which is obviously overly scripted for multiple races/seasons but would allow you to set things to your liking. rF2 can't do that.

The results files only really have timing and basic incident data. If you're running a server you could use one of the various live tools to show car positions and summaries of qualifying/race information, and maybe even allow some sort of 'replay' of car positions (I'm not familiar enough with the various sites/solutions to know for sure).

To add to this thefe is a bug with ai strategy when you do races based on laps. The aiwill do a full stint and then after that they will pit every couple of laps.
When you select timed races they willnot havethis issue, but not much of strategy. They always pit for a full tank
