[REL] Longford 1967 v1.0 [2018-08-15]

Sponsorship was less sophisticated in those days!

Just for gits and shiggles I took a few of the Reiza pack cars for a blast around this incredible track, and I've actually got a headache from grinning so much. Not only one of the greatest and most immersive and believable tracks in rF2 and all of simracing, I'd even go so far as to say one of the greatest virtual terrains in gaming full stop. The thought of Woodford being converted to Arma3 so I can run around a believable Aussie environment makes me drool. Thanks again woochoo.

I had Longford (with the Eve F3) on public display at the MakerX expo in Burnie, Tasmania, on Sunday.
My T300 broke last year, so I borrowed my friend's old red Momo. Didn't have the power supply, so no FFB :(

A usual mix of teenagers driving ok, kids slowly getting the hang of it, and really young kids barely being able to reach the pedals.
Mums/Dads/Siblings/Friends/Guardians often on-hand to help the kids learn to drive.
Occasionally some adults also had a go.
A few people live in the area around Longford and told me it all looks really good.
A couple of older gentlemen told me that they attended the races back in the '60s.

I also had Spiralagon (my platformer game - see sig) on display. Another case of teenagers doing ok, and some kids slowly getting the hang of it. Also a few kids who seemed to get it immediately.

My setup was in the alcove behind the purple-roofed tent. Unfortunately the pics were all a bit blurry.
Total event attendance of around 2000 people, and they all seemed to be pixelated!

Longford (and Spiralagon) rolled out for another expo. This time, a kid's activities expo called Kid I Am, in Launceston on Saturday.
Lots of kids crashing the '66 EVE F3, some kids driving it well, several adults watching on who either live in the area and/or attended the real-life races in the '60s :)

The previously assumed to be broken Thrustmaster T300 had an unexpected revival when pulled out of storage. I was only running about 40% ffb for the sake of the kids, and that seemed low enough to not trigger any thermal shut-down issues.
So i'll soon be doing some 100% tests to see if a firmware upgrade has changed things...

(this photo is after i completed the setup on the Friday evening before the event)

A couple of days ago I painted up a Brabham-esque EVE livery for the event
