I wouldn't do it if you guys didn't like it, so thanks back to ya. Release days are happy times for me
Durge, looks like you made it to dawn Thanks for the shots Thanks Tosch. I made a nice little photoshop action to crank my source jpgs into seamless and tiled diffuse and norm maps. One click BAM! 64 frames, all processing, plus resized and dds! I don't want to think about how painful it would have otherwise been. The old water animation... well... I'm really glad I made the new one
A big thank you from Germany to you, woochoo. Looks great so far (just had a short glimpse around...).
Ich kann nicht sprechen Deutsch, aber ich danke Ihnen, und Sie sind herzlich willkommen. ... Und ich danke Ihnen google übersetzen
Thankyou woochoo, the new buildings look ace, but... I miss the young lady. I'm a middle aged, married man, please allow me my simple pleasures. Anything winsome and buxom should do it... lol. Thanks again sir.
Have not had a chance to drive the new version, but Animated Water, what, my pond out in the field has animated water??
Well, it depends which field There are some areas that should be water that I've not gotten too yet. Mainly just narrow little creeks. The terrain hasn't really had much attention since the rF1 days, but I do plan to get back to it some time. edit: no fish yet either Yeah, that building was originally from the old GPL project that was never finished. Times change, so maybe one day a 3D lady will appear up there on the new model... but no promises
Okay, just ran the GP79 mod, and thought I would just check out my pond. It was dry, but I forgot all about that once I started coming back to the gate. I seemed to have gotten turned around and ended up lost. I drove toward a fence line but didn't find a gate to the road, but I did find a hole in the fence to the next field. Went thru the hole and ended up driving thru a patch of trees along the fence line running parallel with the road. I drove from the roadside back toward the middle of the field and found a dry creek bed. Twasn't much fun so I thought I'd find my way back to that hole in the fence, found it and kept going along fence line by the road. I found a group of people who apparently was waiting to take a picture of the first fool that comes along driving out in the pasture. That must have been what they were doing because I don't think they could see the race course from where they were. Found a gate close by that would let you onto the road, if it was open. I thought "hhmmmm" so I nudged it a little and knocked the gate to the ground. Alas I couldn't nudge it without damaging my front wing. So I backed up and gave some gas. Pushed it out into the road (with a little effort) Just in time to trap a contender who probably never expected to hit a gate in the middle of a race course. He kinda got tangled up in it and was hollerin' and a cussin' as I waved and drove off down the road. All in all it was a good outing. Thanks to that person known as Woochoo!
Nice write-up Jim. I always worry a little bit when people go exploring out in the paddocks, because I know there really isn't much there. Not yet anyway. But, with explorers and the accident-prone in mind I did make an effort to ensure that every paddock or yard always had at least a way in, out, or through. It's no fun getting stuck. I hope to make exploring more fun in the future
