Is there any way you could add the skins inside the car # folder instead of having them loose?

I was thinking about making a package, but right now I'm adding 4 or 5 skins a week, and it doesn't make sense until I slow down a little -because I would have to keep updating it every time I add, and people would have to keep downloading it over and over - at least this way people can be using them until then...maybe when I get to 30 I'll make one up - really the system that is in place is not very friendly towards this kind of thing...
As far as those layers , i was just following devs' instructions so they are DX11 compatible, it's not just the AO, but the shadow and dirt layers and the alpha channel that makes the side darker - I have however, darkened the alpha layer on top to more match - I think when the side of the car is lit (like in the 2nd and 3rd shots of the #26 car) it looks the same as the top just a little dirtier - the bottom of the side has those dark shadow layers so it has always been very dark...I'll take a look at them without the layers and see if it's better, but I wouldn't change them until I make up the package...really this is something for the devs to fix...all these historics need some serious updating - the driver and helmet models are especially poor, although not as noticeable in the G4, because it's a tin top.....the edges of the # plates, etc. stand out because of techniques i do on purpose, doesn't have anything to do with the layers....this shot of one of my 917K skins illustrates that perfectly - this car was made when DX11 was still a gleam in Marcel's eye, and doesn't have those layers applied...notice how the # plate and body stripes stand out from the side of the car like they were applied to it :

sorry that you feel it is "negative", but I won't be changing that, because I like it:)...
