I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before but it would be nice to have this function. I'm one of those people who needs it badly.
https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/how-to-stop-head-vibration-with-vr.55375/ set cockpit vibration to 0 and add some car vibration, like 1
I think they doesn´t tried what I said! They set all values to "0" (I guess) However, if you don´t want to test it - your problem!
I don't want to use this, but some dampening of bumps is needed. I like being attached to the car, but having bumps act on the camera position 1:1 isn't very good. I'm not sure how assetto corsa handles this (I run with lock to horizon off in AC, but don't have this jarring effect on bumps)
I agree with you ice. I have been driving with it and tolerating it and I must admit I am getting used to it a little but it is still too severe. It would be nice to have an option to adjust it to your own liking. From absolute lock to horizon to varying points in between the extreme we have atm would be great.
They really need to implement this feature. I get a slight motion sickness when going off road due to this. Please S397 give us some options to deal with the camera shake!
Agreed thinks can get really shakeup & it's bit of a pain Fast movements perhaps need to be smoothed , " lock to horizon " is that the solution?
The lack of "lock to horizon" or adjustments of the sort is really getting to me. I just did a 10 lap race and I have a severe headache because of all the shaking :S
I´m really perplex that vibration settings in player.json seem to do nothing for you (for VR)! Maybe there changed something in recent build? Noticed that some default settings (for example exxegerate yaw=0 now!) chenged lately. Maybe it also changed some function...
I've posted this elsewhere but it's more to do with the Car and/or Setup even with all vibration effects off, if you have a stiff car (Megane) then it's going to be bumpy on bumpy tracks unless you really soften the setup but that causes other problems of course. So in VR you see what the car is doing, a Lock To Horizon would help in keeping the view more stable but as S397 found out it caused more problems when they did it (viewpoint moved outside of the car on Ovals, one example). All we can hope for is that they revisit this area and try and get something working for us as somepoint.
Yeah it's not about vibration settings, it's the fact that the car itself shakes when going over bumps. In real life tracks like Interlagos are even more bumpy. The difference is, the human eye has a kind of in-built damping or image stabilization mechanism, so your eyes can basically maintain focus even on a bumpy road. Now that doesn't work in the sim of course because it's not your body that moves, but rather the in-game image, so they would need to create a "filter" for simulating the human eye dynamics.
I'm not sure, if this is what you're after, but I installed the Real Head Motion plugin and that somewhat "locks" the horizon and lets the car "wobble around" ... just like what you're body and brain does when driving in a car. https://sites.google.com/site/mididrumcoverpartner/rfactor2-realheadmotion-plugin
Agree Adrian. The problem of this 3rd party tools is that they lower the priority to include these items ingame up to the point of never being included. Devs should know what can be left up to modders and what should be kept in house. While I have to thank all plugin developers for their desinterested work, I would love if one day some of those great plugins become obsolete because the game already includes the option.
Shame good plugin's can't quickly be snatched up by 397 dev's ( with permission of course ) & be integrated I'm happy personally to fiddle setup etc , there's a bunch of iracing members that are considering defecting to rf2 soon & I know some of them will just drop & run anything over setting up in menu graphic options & controller Thus realise a decent chunk of potential user base ( new purchasers) will not get passed demo phase
I keep checking to see if this has been updated yet but seems like not. I really want to play but cant stand to be in the car for more than a lap or 2. I just did a 4 hour race on iRacing with zero issues. Assetto Corsa has VR working really well too.
