well... its happened. 20/21 season will introduce LMH class.
did some google and looks like some future cars from trackmania...
opinions?
 
I think the currently announced cars (Aston, Toyota) look amazing, there's no solid info on Peugeot other than they are coming back which can only be a good thing for the sport and competition. Koenigsegg have expressed interest and you can guarantee their car will look, sound and perform at insane levels, and the Longtail concept from their sketch challenge is a beautiful car. Merc and McLaren have also expressed interest and we know what the Senna looks like. Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is also in mix. At the end of the day I don't think they'll look bad and I'm pretty sure the competition will be intense if they don't stuff up the regs, especially by the 22 season.
 
LMP1 was a noble experiment but lacked the investment value required to attract manufacturers.

LMH appears to be a way better fit to attract OEM's. WEC & IMSA has suffered over the last 20 years from low interest among the manufacturers particularly from the peak days of Group C/GTP. So long as they manage the rules to maintain a acceptable BOP formula it's far more likely to grow beyond the cottage industry of existing Hypercar manufacturers. That's vital in itself as few of the cottage industry folks really have the financial strength to field a true factory effort.
 
I like cars that are cars, not spaceships.

Hypercars to me seems more like cars than modern LMP cars, so I like that.

I fully agree with this. If someone like cars that resemble street car, guess what? There is GTE for that! I really don't understand those stupid people that want everything to fit their interest. There is already GTE for that!!!!!!!!! Prototype should stay instead of stupid pimped "road cars"

IMO the Prototypes got ugly when they added a crazy big shark fin, looks less of a space ship and more a space brick.

The older car seems more sleek and curvy, while the 2019 Toyota has too square and boxy of a silhouette for my tastes. Also not how the nose became closer to a 90 degree angle over the years

probably a holdover "tradition" from the 50's/60's. Same with the luggage requirement. (though I read that it was removed after the Toyota GT-One justified the fuel cell as the luggage space?)

Not too knowledgeable about Prototype sorts cars, so correct me If I'm wrong.
 
Corvette did the same, the luggage was never size specific so they carved out a little rectangle in the trunk. Just large enough for small briefcase.
