Recently rFactor 2 has a new sound. For the new cars that use this sound it sounds really great, by far the best sound I've ever heard in a racing sim and also way better than the sound of real racing videos.
There are still many mods that use the "legacy" sound. And that's terrible. The balance between ambient sound effects, the tires and the engine is completely lost. There is an option to set this yourself in the audio settings, but that is a setting for the whole of rFactor 2. After choosing another mod, these settings have to be made again and also choosing a mod in which you have already you have to make the settings again. In addition, the sound of the engine itself is now also terrible, much worse than before the sound update.
The way the engine sounds now is an insult to the mod's creators and terrible for us to listen to. The bad "legacy" sound now greatly distracts from the entire driving experience so that I no longer perceive the other very good features of rFactor 2. And that's a real shame for such a good simulator.
It would be good if Studio 397 did something about this. To start with, the possibility to save the audio mix per mod and to take a closer look at what is going wrong with the engine sound.

Would like some documentation from S397 on how to apply the new sound system into our 3rd party mods.
