Agree. Graphics are better though in ams2. Unfortunately paralell projection is still needed in VR for my pimax (20 % drop in fps). For me the FFB in rf2 does it, not as grainy and slow. Driving on a single screen rf2 gives me more feeling of speed as well. The worst game in the latter sense for me is ACC btw (terrible sim).
yeah with the rain, AMS2 is better than rF2 and better optimised too for AMS2 in the rain, sadly rF2 needs a new dev to work on it.
They said it themselves it's not finished. E.g. their hybrid engine is not implemented per LMDh/WEC rules so they are probably adding electric motor power on top of combustion engine.
will be reaaaally dissapointment if don't get VR. in fact, i didn't buy AMS2 dcl cause i'm waiting for it, VR obviously
my Vive died finally after 4?5? years and i realised i only used it because its there, its been on my todo list to replace, but, now i cant be bothered, wont be getting another VR headset. I think the fad has worn thin.
Well I make it 38 sleeps - excluding afternoon naps on the sofa in front of the TV - until we should be able to get our hands on a copy of LMU. Fingers crossed that it's released without problems. We can then find out if the wait has been worth it, and that it's the success that we all need for Studio 397 and MSG.
-1 for VR, not replacing my dead one. Care less if LMU has VR, VR eats ass. if however it has no triple screen, 100% will not buy.
I just want LMU to be released flawless so they can go back to work on rFactor... I miss new high quality content. The new mustang gt3 could be an awesome addition
LMU has been ordered by ACO to handle the virtual 24 Hours with a more reliable platform than rF2 especially after the criticism from some famous real driver. i guess that it has been argued a dedicated game will be more reliable (we'll see). From what i have watched on different streams there was no VR driver who drove in the virtual 24 Hours. So it's probably not the priority of S397 to provide the best support for VR. As the engine is inherited from rF2, it will be possible at a moment to have VR support but it's not sure it will be at first release. it's not a priority. Priority is probably more online reliability.
the number that keeps getting quoted "2.7%" of users have VR has not been true for a long time latest numbers from Steam have dropped to 1.84% as at Dec '23. interesting to see which headsets are popular though! The old HTC Vive still battling it out View attachment upload_2024-1-16_18-3-1.png
