None that I am aware of, although the eSports racers who stream would probably not want to use VR or their face would not be visible to their audience. In the major 2020 rF2 VLM event that I remember watching I reckon there was one participant who used VR out of the 20-30 something whose rigs they showed.
Agree. But get it if you dont use it (yet): proper VR is expensive and hardware is not there yet. But since LMU is using the rf2 engine I assume VR will be available.
2.4million VR users then (and that's only Steam and not including those that didn't have a VR HMD plugged in a time of survey). As ever looking at steam survey results to gauge VR users is the incorrect way of looking at the number of VR users, seeing as only a very very tiny fraction of Steam games support VR.
Did not intend to steer the LMU thread down the "let's argue about VR's viability" path. S397 has been pretty nose-to-the-grindstone with LMU, not making too many waves or divulging too much info. Hopefully we learn more about where LMU VR stands as we get closer to release. I'd take the rough around the edges VR implementation from rF2 over nothing all day long, but if they're taking extra time to improve the experience, certainly won't complain about that either. Would be curious to know if performance is one of the major considerations. If they've given LMU a serious uplift but are still dealing with the level of GPU/CPU optimization and intensiveness that we see in rF2, I could see them struggling to get VR performance in a playable spot, especially since we're usually dealing with large grids in endurance racing.
I would guess S397 have access to more specific data than is available to the public from Steam. If there was a sizeable VR userbase it would be coming out of the box.
It is coming out of the box, was confirmed on Discord long ago the absence on the Steam page was/is an error, the same thing happened to RF2 once or twice over the years.
Vanwall won't be back, I THINK it is because Lamborghini didn't want to share the Green/Black color scheme. but it will debut AGAIN in LMU https://twitter.com/LeMansUltimate/status/1740418277531168910
And I also read that the VR tag was removed a couple of updates ago and made it back on. Let's just wait and see what happens at release, right? Rather than continually take guesses from pre-release videos and steam updates and crucify S397/LMU/MSG at every opportunity...
Only 56 sleeps to LMU release I'd hope that alot of that which appears in LMU will get ported to rF2... but not for a while After that, assuming that the two share the same basic underlying "system", you hope the two would be updated in parallel. BUT... I'd guess that LMU will also be very much aimed at the console market too. When theat happens I very much hope that they can have it so thar PC users and console users can connect to the same servers and race against each other. I have ACC on PC and my son has it on a console
After trying AMS2 Lemans, I'm back to rF2 and I'm hyped for LMU, each time I come back I find rF2 the best. The driving in AMS2 is too much easy for me, spoiled by rF2. If they open souce the game we can mod it, it needs better UI, with AI selection, and we can finish the game
