[WIP] Le Grand Circuit 1967 (in association with VLM)

The 100% is anything related to percentage of wins/podiums/finishes?
3 in 1 like the lubricant. :)
yes, but rhamm has beaten you to it
I do believe one model of V8 Ford won a couple of races with 4 different drivers on this list. One of those drivers asked if he was rookie of the year after winning the race he drove in. He never lost a race on that track or in that V8 Ford. I think his name was A.J. and his teammate might have been named Dan. Some guy named Bruce and another named Mario won a race down in Florida with the other V8 Ford of that model in that year. Those V8 Fords were retired after those two races. I guess retired isn't actually accurate since one of them has since been stuck in a snowstorm at least once.

the final, fairly unnecessary clue is:

A BIG THANKS to all of you for joining in, or just reading. It has been fun for me, and fun for some of you some of the time ;)
Of course it was guessed as far back as post #102, congratulations to Mike Bennett, but I couldn't stop there :D

Would love to hear something about your journey with the track.
yeah, there should be a bit of time for talk before it's ready

the short story is I wanted to drive this version of the layout, but I didn't want to make another whole track. Especially such a long track. So I decided to just make the road and a rough version of the verge and then give it to a few people just for fun. I then heard from MonSum from VLM and he offered reference material, and I think at that point I asked him if I could use the '70s VLM assets. The main concept is still to "not make another whole track" so not much will be scratch built (road/terrain/pits are), but most VLM things will get varying degrees of updates to fit in with the scene.

Are you sure its not Laguna Seca??? I'm pretty confident that I got it .........you haven't looked at the track map upside down or back to front have you, they are similar when you do that......

aaah, late entries for absurd theories, correct or otherwise, are still being accepted ;)

Screenies now that the secret is out? ;)
almost everything is still wip status, so i don't want to make people have to post and ask why "this isn't right?", or say "that was different in '67", or "is the other thing going to be included?"

I like those questions because i like detail, but now isn't the time to get critical about screenshots, from my perspective :)

I've been working on the pits for over a month now, and they're nearly "done", so at that point you might get either a couple of screenshots, or a pre-beta,super-alpha,sub-ready build. who knows

but, ok, you guys/girls did the puzzles so I guess I owe something as a payoff :)

Now we need some car modding group to recreate the Ford GT40 to use it here.
More suitable would be the aforementioned 100% Ford Mk.IV, but a GT40 would be ok. I did speak by PM to a car maker about an Mk.IV, and they said it might be an interesting car to try, but so far I think it's just an idea. The Howston G4 is pretty similar to a Lola T70, so that's ready now.

I think one really great thing about this layout is the number of amazing cars that raced there from '56 to '67. Just think of them all!! I'm only making the '67 version, but the road layout is accurate back to '56. And I hope A LOT of those sorts of cars get made, please :D
