Guys the new Road map says "live with just 3 words: iconic, fast, competition proven"
why all people think that it is going to be 1 thing only like 1track or 1car ?
might be more than 1.

 

Wouldn't call the Nords fast.

 

It's like saying Le Mans is like Monaco.

With some cars 60-70% of the lap you spend with your throttle pinned to the floor. So if Nords isn't fast for you only ovals will.

 

Almost 200 km/h average speed in GT3 is fast. Despite ~154 turns.

 

Rather have Nürburg gp circuit than the yawn fest that is The Nordschleife

 

It's lost its magic through being oversaturated through racing games and everybody and their mum trying smash lap records on it.

That average speed is bumped up via the Dottingher Hoe, and that's it. Hell, I'll even concede that average speeds at Bathurst are what they are because of Mountain Straight and Conrod/Chase.

 

I'd rather Portland. Which was supposed to be out before this weekend, but I think we're supposed to just forget about that

Nordschleife is not fast?



BTW, I hope laser scanned Nordschleife will be one of the announcements. It really would make me happy for many years.

 

Wonder how popular Nords is in iRacing, I always had the feeling this track is the kind that everyone say they love, then you do a race and either nobody appear or most of the grid crash in the first lap lol kinda like Supercars

 

Please don't turn this into a Nordschleife thread. There's already one on the wishlist section.

 

Doesn't apply to me, in fact I even don't remember when I raced a track other than Nordschleife. And yes , Nordschleife is difficult to learn with it's 21km and 73 corners. But if you finally know how to drive it, the reward is great.

BTW, for those being somehow against Nordschleife?! We won't get laser scanned Nordschleife DLC that quick in rF2, because S397 is small and probably doesn't have the resources anyway. Correctly modeling Nordschleife is a big task ... But I hope I am wrong.

 

The shininess wore off real quick, every league and official road series ran it for a few months and then poof, in the series and leagues where you could vote for the track list for next season, people were against running it every season or even voting to have it every third season.

It’s fun to hotlap but not that good to race on imho, and like all things that are hard to get to grips with and take time to get up to speed with, it gets left to shadows, where few run it, but run it all the time.

It’s too big of a track to race on unless the field is very close with race pace, otherwise you’re left just hotkalpping until the flag

Nürburgring gp was very popular though the start finish straight would grind you system to a halt.

 

Neither of those have evaporated. Let me give you and update on both. For Tatuus I would say we are about 70% done with the first car. For Motec we are still in early phases of design, so if I had to put a percentage on that I'd say about 20% done.

Part of me hopes that if this fast iconic thing is a car, it's an early 2000s F1 car. Because that's the only real missing piece of open wheel racing. We have 60s, 75, 88, 92, 96, 99, 2013 and 2014 onwards (14 mod needs updating with talent files though). No 2000s.

Bored of Nords ? But not bored of modern Monza ? Thats confusing for me !
