Latest Release 1109 Rain Effects AND MORE!

It is really nice to see better rain effects on rF2, but you need to update the performance of it. Right now it is not good, specially when running on a storm.

Thx guys for the great work this year to bring back rf2 !

Would be nice to have settings for VR (Rift) to reach stable 45fps with rain and let ASW do the rest.

Also there is still the tcp error on dedicated server to connect to isi tracker...

Merry christmas to S397 team and the rf2 racing community !

Well..i have a 1080 and an i7 on a 3440x1440 res screen at 60hz, please can i understand where does my graphics card goes in your definition of low, mid hig GPU ? another thing after running rF2 something remains in memory since after a restart and with only steam open i have 2GB usage , once i leave rF2 i have 10GB of ram occupied ...

Use recommended settings at start of post .. mine runs brilliant based on recommended highend pc although it isn't really . Using Silverstone storm 28 cars . btw had to restart game a few times to get 2 speed wipers and notice extra set of numbers in HUD tire screen

For me the hi speed wipers are on by default ..I can cycle threw the off, slow, fast once in the pit ..but even when I turn them off & they are back on HI when I re enter the cockpit ....

I have. I even lowered the graphical settings bellow the recommended for low-end PC's.

Without rain - 110 FPS
With rain (mirrors ON) - 20 to 35 FPS
With rain (mirrors OFF) - 35 to 50 FPS

I love to see newer effects for rFactor 2, although this rain isn't a perfectly accurate and smooth representation of how rain behaves on the windshield. Other sims have done a better visual job with better performance, not only regarding rain.

But good to see rFactor 2 being taken care of, anyways.

I think its a shame. I already uninstalled it.

Sorry for my last message, I tried some recommended graphic options and reinstalled + updated graphic cards drivers and now it runs better, but... you have to take a serious look into the rain perfomance because as another user already reported, the FPS in rain are about 50% worse than in dry, something that never happened in DX9.

See you.

If you have older versions (From previous builds) installed you should be able to uninstall those though. This is really more for servers though as they can have multiple versions of the same car installed at the same time.

I have a 7700K + 1080ti @ 1440p with it maxed out and in a storm, runs great! Looks pretty dang good too. Just didn't have any grip at all with the Bentley in the storm. Did I miss putting on rain tires or does it do that automatically?
