Interesting...one can only guess what the 90F means as it has very low pressures....

To add to that, the 2013 tyre pressure:
    110.3kpa starting pressure

But the teams would use tricks to run lower than that.
    Camber was 4°.

    RF2 FISI 2012 is 100kpa and 4.5°.

I believe that in the end the problem isn't that lower pressures are inherently faster, but that there are no disadvantages when using them. In F1, teams were taking huge risks, and not always things went their way as history shows.
If we had punctures, dynamic track temperatures, and correct camber readings (this is the most broken part of the tyre model IMO) , running at the lowest pressure could give results sometimes, but not always, as it is in reality.

What do you mean by correct camber reading?

Camber and toe adjustments have very little influence on the tyre temperature spread, and no matter what your pressure is, middle temperature will always be highest or as high as the inside tyre.

This is taken from my fastest lap on the last RF2 Asia GP3 Series (could have been any other lap).
Pressure: 12 PSI front-rear (1 PSI from the minimum at the front, minimum at the rear)
Camber: -3.00 front, -2.00 rear (yes, bigger camber angles give you more heat, but does not change the spread; same for toe)
    Toe: -1 front, +2 rear

With pressures so low, the center of the tyre is always too hot.

@Karei I haven't done much driving in stock content lately, but a prominent F1 mod doesn't have that camber pattern. Have you checked recent content?

Comparing with other Sims, rf2 is the one that have most difference between inside and outside tire temperature, where the camber really makes difference.

@Ronnie Ok you've made some good points.
I took the 180kpa from an interview with an IMSA race engineer. I think it's notable that the series with teams playing games with minimum tire pressure are using Pirellis.

Let me ask you this. Do you think every tire in the history of motorsport has it's best performance at minimum tire pressure? Because that's what rf2 seems to think.

"Actually you do. If it gives you best results then you go with it. Simple as that."
Real race engineers don't. I'd bet my bottom dollar that tire temperatures in f1 are reading higher temperatures in the centre of the tire and that's why teams would like to go lower.

All this question about tire pressures is completely offtopic here.

I do have a desire to create a Sega Rally '95 mod for rFactor2, including a remake of the Desert stage, someday.

Mercedes did it at Monza in F1 a couple of years ago. I remember them telling Hamilton to start booting it and to just do it with no questions.

    Ok,all that is great!!!
Just one thing about off-road...,with my DD and intense FFB (right ffb),when you take the grass,or some "vibreurs",it's so unrealistic IMO.
