What is SSR?
Screen Space Reflection is a technique for reusing screen space data to calculate reflections. It is commonly used to create more subtle reflections such as on wet floor surfaces or in puddles. Screen Space Reflection is an expensive technique, but when used correctly can give great results.

From what they said in the roadmap, this technology would help them to reflect more objects and in a better way.
obviously like everything else, we will have to see how this turns out hahaha :D

Is it possible that Portland (newest track which is awesome by the way) runs a lot better performancewise than an older track like Atlanta Motorsport Park? I had a race at Portland (constant framerate, no issues) but after that I tried Atlanta Motorsports Park and there was some stuttering here and there. Racing in VR.

It depends a lot of racing conditions (number AI, rain, clouds, timescale, 24H cycle and time of the day, multiclass and what opponent cars, your car......

rF2 is so complicated to configure!!

As it has a lot in view at once due to its layout and hills it can get quite taxing on any system, there's a lot going on compared to flat Portland in the visible range.
Of course that's not to say it couldn't do with an optimisation pass at some point (might happen if S397 update it to latest goodies of course), but for now you'll have to lower settings a bit for that track.

Using iblcarbody is indeed the best way to get chrome I think. But yes I think at present just wait on the chrome with the old shader

Hi guys!

Any update about this cubemapfresnel adjustments thing? We are about to launch last version of our mod this season soon, would be nice to know if there will be changes about this particular issue or not. Thanks!

It should be in the next build, which should be with in the next month, I'm told.

By default, anything you do now will still work as it does now. There will be a drop down in the material editor when you save a json file, which will allow you to set a cube fresnel preset or enable custom mode.

You will also be able to disable the auto albedo correction, and fix the albedo maps manually.
