    Hello rF2 community,

I have always been able to play rFactor2 without any issues, but since the dx11 update I have constant lag spikes. They will hit at random times, even with no other cars on the track. I have set all my graphical settings to the lowest possible, also no shadows.

I also set the following video settings:
    GPU: auto
    Anti-aliasing: Non
    Refresh rate: 60Hz
    Sync: Video
    Post effects: None
    Agressive threading

My computer specs aren't too bad either I would guess. They are:
    Windows 10 Home
    Intel Core i7-6700 3.40GHz
    16GP RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

I also gave high priority in the task menu and have closed all non-necessary apps.

At this point I have no clue what else to do. On dx9 i had no issue, but with the new forced dx11 things just aren't working smoothly anymore...

Would anyone have any clue on how to solve this?

    Kind regards,

    Roy

    GPU: auto

Set the above to your GTX960 as I've seen others report problems that their onboard GPU is chosen over their main GPU when AUTO is selected, try that and see.

Yes a big problem especially for users of DD wheels. Im getting the cpu spike to %100 and when it does my FFB goes crazy and screen stutters. I'm fed up with this and after much mucking around changing .json file settings to true etc it still happens soooo I have gone back to DX9 amd yay I can use all my plugins like pedaloverlay etc. S397 whats going on here?

Also, turn off aggressive threading - this is for older processors, not an i7.

I have an I54690k oc 4400ghz on a z97k mb and a gtx1070. Shouldnt be having any issues with that setup or is I5 not enough? And yes I had aggressive threading off. No worries its all running fine on DX9.

Thank you all for responding. I fixed my issues. These are my video settings if someone finds themselves with the same issues.

    GPU:
Set to ideal video card (NVIDIAGTX960 in my case)
    Anti-aliasing: Non
    Refresh rate: 60Hz
    Sync: GPU
    Post effects: None
    Agressive threading Off
