    Hi,
Since last week I'm having problems opening rfactor 2, when I'm going to open the single player I get the error message appended below, however the dev mode does work.
I formatted and the problem persists. [IMG]

    Formatted what?
You format a hard drive which basically deletes all the data on it.

With your error I would have cut your player.json and paste it on your desktop.
Do a Steam verify games files and start the game.
You will have a default player.json then.
If that doesn't work it may be another of the json files.

edit, Do this first as it may tell you the exact problem:
To start rF2 with log, just add in the launcher settings (TAB SinglePlayer) +trace=3

//Edit: log files should appear in .\Steam\SteamApps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\Log
    as trace<date>.txt

(there you go Juergen, passing on the log file "secret")

Any chance that an AV is blocking the file?

Is a json file something that could do make a AV program flag it.
    They aren't executables or bats.
Just trying to learn my new thing for the day Juergen. ;)

JSON files are at least...java script files. rF2 is opening some .json files during start up.

And thanks for sharing the log hint ;)

I think your player.json got corrupted. Just delet it and than it should work again.
