    Hi all

I have hosted before, since I've re-instated my pc etc
I've checked my ports, put exceptions into windows 7 firewall
    (Confirmed when I launched rf2 etc )

My server shows on list ( I can connect from my other pc on LAN )
But the "join" button is greyed out for others trying to connect over net

Bt20's on brizana , I did do a vmod for it too & tested in single player mode (it was successfully registered )

    Any ideas????

Opps I think I have a space in the vmod name

Could this be causing the greyed out button ?? Does this problem still exist ??

I have to open additional ports ?

(for others to download the vmod)

Also I thought we didn't need a vmod for say bt20s on brizana all official content from the same series

The sadness is sapping my will

Have you tried someone else's vmod, just to see if works.

    Hiya denst

No -should I ? When I get back to my tech pad I'll redo the vmod with no spaces in the title ( !!?%?! )
( I'm just out pretending to be social at the moment) Fingers crossed

Vmod problem causes grey join button?

Its just deduction, vmod its the easiest and most obvious item to check and fix.

When your server is launched, does it give Matcher Status and ID in the dedicated window?

New server up "TEST TEST TEST ". ( using isi package) can anyone try please ?

Dens -no I don't recall ever seeing that, I did package the vmod & it registered successfully etc
( the last time with no spaces in the name also +I checked it in single player mode and it worked fine)

I'm not sure what matchmaker is? I've put a new server to test (named as above) using official isi pack to exclude a vmod problem, does this one work?? Greyed out join button ??

Gosh I bet everyone getting tired of me now lol

It works at last, but I think if I do my own vmod (for my own combination of car&track) it will not again,
Is there any special I need to do for this ???? (Any other ports to open etc?)

    Thanks to mike P for testing (-;

Try creating the vmod on the serverbox instead of on your HDD (or the other way around)

I had issues with that as well recently. locally it didn't work, created on the serverbox and it went fine.

The Matcher Status and ID show in the dedicated window when you hit 'load'. If it doesn't give info, it don't work.

    Dens

Cheers, but what do you mean on the server box?
I am creating the mod on the same PC that's going to host if this is what you mean?
It registers it successfully & then I press install ( on the vmod creation thing ) then when I going into rf2 it's there & works fine ( when I test in single player ), then I simply select this vmod in the host thing

Oh rats I forgot you are doing it all locally.

Ok well, if you create your own vmod you have to check Status and ID when the server is running:

    Matcher.jpg

I suspect your first vmod did not get this (blank in both lines) and therefore the join button was greyed out even if the server appears to be active.

I fixed that for myself by creating the vmod not locally but on our dedicated machine. how you would work around that.....if it is indeed the issue though.

So load the first vmod again and check Status to see if this is indeed the issue.

It's also mandatory to keep, at the packages folder of the host, the vmod file that you're using, so others can download it when connect; check it ;)

I'm having buttons greyed out on build 946 on my league server.

Can anyone test it to check if they have the same problem?

Noel was lecturing me not so long back about being 'condescending' about the huge pile of bugs, for the benefit of Thrindil I choose not to go on a rant as I had on Ashes thread prior, as I had that VERY night - amongst other things - spent 50 minutes trying to get them elusive join buttons to light up! Is it all fairy tales?

Now, go in lobby, click network settings, click cancel, and tra-laa! For one click only the join buttons are lit.

I believe this all relates to the spectator bug!

So many new players would just go and play something else after 30 minutes I think, I tried for 50.
