[REL] Jaguar XJ13 1967

As I am learning how to apply lights/glow to cars, I have found you can make such glow effect of the headlight covers, which I didn't notice before, is there cars in rF2 that uses this effect ?

I could perhaps make tachometer glow too, or whatever.

PS it is also awesome to have brake discs glow, I used to always forget that, usually easy to assign. Brakes in fact really get hot haha

Glowing brake disks are one of the most overdone effects in simracing. At night, yes, visibly glowing, during the day, it's more a pink hue than anything else.
As for those headlights, that's not in game, right?

Headlight is not in game true, have not tested in game, it is in developer mode. Should be same in game.

Glow color is directly related to the temperature of metal surface. Perceivable glow intensity is more about ambient brightness. Here in my 330P4 glow texture might be missing alpha channel, I have much better looking glow on my 917K. And I prefer to have little bit exaggerated glow effect, for example instead of 500Celsius degs, effect to begin aat 400-450C.

@John R Denman All replicas of XJ13 still looks good, even if they are very inaccurate. I haven't seen replica that was more beautiful than original car. There is one of later projects "Spirit of XJ13", I think it is super accurate.

I have been working on XJ13 these few days, did a lot to it. The "original" version with long tail I believe would have been only raced at long straights circuits. I am almost certain that if Jaguar would have seriously raced it, then it would have had short tail version with some downforce oriented bits on it, much like many other cars at the time were already using. I don't know what was wrong about Jaguar management these days as they stopped trying...

Long tail would have been just too slow in most tracks against 330P4, GT40MK2, Lola T70, Chaparral 2F in 1967. But short tail with better aero and maybe Firestone tires would have been competitive.

This is testing render from Blender, I was testing wheels appearance. Would be pretty good render with driver in the car.
