"It's impossible to race in the rain in RF2..." - not really! :)

I can't exactly remember the track & car combo I was using, but a while ago, started to rain in the middle of the race and it fell like was driving in a typhoon area. Not matter how slow I went, still couldn't make any turn.

Yes, there's several tracks when starts to rain it's totally undriveable. In other hand some tracks the AI got very slow and you can drive as it was dry. I don't know if it's something with GDB specific track file, lack of wet lines in AIW file or whatever. Fact is that it's totally inconsistent right now.

Just wait until the Palatov is released, it has a designed wet tire. I think you will like driving in the rain (of course the track might make a difference)

The main problem with wet racing isn't the rain and wetness itselt but the tires. That became totally clear to me after testing the Palatov wet tire compound for hours on end. If we have good wet weather tires then racing in the wet feels great. :)

We got good wet compounds at VEC :) Still not updated to the new CPM though.

Oh that's really cool. I didn't know the VEC uses custom compounds. :)

So the official ISI content (e.g. Meganes) don't have a proper wet tyre modelled? Just trying to figure out here.

    See ya

Fix raining in cockpit before tyres, spoils the immersion.

I was meaning the raindrops that come through the roof, not eye candy.

    You got that right.

Well, I meant your rain in the cockpit (pretty dreadful) but also the droplets on the windscreen - also a matter of immersion/atmosphere IMO. Really disappointed in AC in that respect after NkPro.

BTW, K Szczech, the sarcasm interpretation wasn't unreasonable, but I'm actually serious.

I'm now going to do the deed...

They could implement a droplet engine as placeholder, even ugly and preliminary it would inform us when the rain starts.

Tricky, but possible, which equals great :D

Modern racing tyres are MADE to be raced under certain conditions - up untill the point where aquaplaning is unavoidable, but since RED flagging a simracing event is just plain silly, this limit should be pushed to near nonexistant - bonus is broader and finer raceable track conditions.

Yeah - one of issues with rF2 weather system - you can't really tell if it's raining and how intensely.

It's my next crusade, after tire pressure simulation :)

Add proper track temp when using weather plugins... My biggest problem with wet weather visuals is when it's overcast or otherwise dark.

    My comprehensive review of pCars:

The rain drops on the windows are a funny shape. They look all wrong. (All graphics maxed btw). NKpro did a better job on this. Or is that my rose tinted glasses(?); haven't looked at it recently.

There's a lesson here about adding "immersive features": get them right or it actually reduces it.

That also goes for birds and planes in a sim appearing at the same place in the sky every lap (rF2). It just reminds you it's a computer. Pattern recognition is what the brain does well.

..From "the campaign for realistic water droplets". :)
