Well, we are now at the halfway point in the Challenge and if we were driving round the course, that would put us somewhere between Quarry Bends and Sulby Crossroads. A good number of the challengers have made it that far and beyond, but for every success, there are many tales of woe for drivers who have found themselves hung up on walls or finding inconvenient buildings well before those two milestones on the circuit. So with drivers regularly making heroic attempts at completing the course, the standings in the three classes of competition are as follows: WRC: 18:08.084 Ahmed Abdalla Citroen DS3 18:43.534 Paul Anstey Citroen DS3 19:47.108 Owen McGaugie Ford Fiesta WRC 2: 20:02.840 Paul Anstey Mini Cooper 22:19.758 Matthew Overton Subaru Impreza N12 Seniors: 22:19.674 Matthew Overton Subaru Impreza N12 26:11.335 Brian Hall Citroen DS3 After some initial fast times by Subarus, it seems the Citroen DS3 has become the steed of choice for the Manx countryside, though there is still plenty of time for the other marques to, well, mark their mark too!
