The first screens weren't of the karting facility and have curbs. CMS road course doesn't have curbing. Not sure if everybody here has me on ignore list since my posts seem to be getting ignored. Time to bow out now I guess.
11:30 PM - 15 Aug 2014 : "Good to see we have such eagle-eyed people in our niche community; another reason why it's always a pleasure to produce content for you lot!" Wut? Does that mean we are getting closer to actually figuring something out..? Don't worry man, you ain't on my ignore list. Yet... Kidding. Maybe I'm on a lot of ignore lists as well, since my suggestion of Road Atlanta was completely ignored. Or maybe it was just because it was a bad suggestion. But seriously, you're right. I don't think ISI would go as far as to make up curbs for a facility that doesn't have them irl.
And while we're all trying to guess what track this is... ISI just went and released a bunch of really cool car updates..!
You guys are good at picking these tracks, wow. What if it's more than one track, eh? Could be that bit of the Barber complex. I doubt there'd be any semi-fictional work done, it's either match up the track to the standards when it was surveyed, or ISI-designed stuff. That oval with RC shot made me think of Daytona but it was just the yellow kerbing speaking to me...
The track is a fictional take on Charlotte Motor Speedway called "Jacksonville Superspeedway" That is the name thats been running in test servers. Charlotte and Jacksonville are both NC cites, good name for such a track. http://rfactor.net/web/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/20090401.jpg The first twitter pic matches well with the old screen shot above. The differences, like the grasscrete in the infield section make sense for a loose copy of CMS. Same goes for the third pic of the kart track. Edit:This has already been said by others.
No Matt, that ISI screenshot is spot on copy of Charlotte. Also, Jacksonville NC is such a place. I'm not sure what your trying to point out.
Jacksonville was in rF1, it was their unlicensed Daytona clone. Jacksonville FL is lots of miles north up the east coast of Florida from Daytona.
Shadow of the light post looks similar on the two pics, but its hard to tell. They could also use the same light post on different tracks Must be fun for isi staff to read this thread
So it's a fantasy oval with a kart track and a couple of bends from Brands Hatch somewhere in there...
Ah, so I see now both Jacksonville and Mountain Peak in the server list. Cant wait to have a CMS and Daytona clone for rF2 soon.
We've seen nothing of Jacksonville, so I'm curious to see what that ends up like. I'm really looking forward to Mountain Peak; even the kart track looks awesome.
Nice, fits somehow to a tweet by Tim from Aug. 11th. : "If you want to get started painting your stock car... (no this isn't an indicator of release v soon) https://www.dropbox.com/s/bkfi5vhvypflfn1/stockcar_2014spec.zip …"
