It seems like a very realistic estimate. Only a couple of weeks ago they were showing off the basic building models, so there's no way it's going to be finished in the next few weeks. At least, I HOPE not; there's no way they could do a decent job of it in that timeframe. I expect late Q1 or Q2 aswell.
"Spending 1 day optimizing Loch Drummond was a good idea. Let's see if we can post some other stuff in the coming days (no content release)."
Yes; it's just something that doesn't have a deadline, so it's the perfect project to experiment with different techniques and basically lose track of time playing with details . When it's ready, it'll be a nice extra that normally wouldn't have happened; or not at this level of detail at least.
In fact very good news! Very nice to see they are spending some time on optimizing the tracks we have already. The revisit of LD did wonders for my hardware. Hope Silverstone gets close to this. Currently it's only a hot-lapping track for me due to the performance.
I thought Tim said a while back that there was no point revisiting Silverstone yet as they were waiting for some data, at least thats why we wouldnt be getting the National circuit for a long time yet.
FB "The ISI Track Team finally got the data they were waiting for to update Silverstone. This is how long you'd have been waiting if we had not released it unoptimized."
it used to annoy me when popular but unfinished tracks were released because everyone wants to run them even though they are pancake flat, not optimized, etc. doesn't bother me since running offline exclusively, though.....or....possible why i am running offline only
ISI Track Team @ISITrackTeam Final (we hope!) Silverstone Release Candidate now in internal testing. Can't wait to hear what they have to say about the updated surface.
Good stuff. I hope the national layout isn't too far away either. It's the layout the BTCC Civic runs after all.
