    Hello All
I have finally had time to get on track with the ISI Camero
    Great car and a blast
I am no setup guru by no means

    I am running at Sebring
I am having trouble getting the rear tires to warm up to racing temp.
Well the fronts are up to temp and gripping the rears are cold and giving less grip back there leading to the rear sliding around and producing over steer
I played with toe in and spring but not much affect.

And with the rear sliding around and having to fight to correct it I end up wearing out the fronts and over heating them.

At least I think that is what is happening

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Try lowering the tire pressure so the rubber moves around more. Moving rubber heats up more.

provide your current setup.svm for evaluation, otherwise it's blind guessing.

I would assume that when the rears are sliding around they would heat up (or overheat eventually) and that those are the ones wearing out. Anyway, you could also try lowering the rear end of the car. That way there is more pressure on the rear wheels causing them to heat up more. You could also add more downforce to the rear wing, with the same effect. You would also have less oversteer with the car.

    Here is my set up

Yes they heat up on the slide but don't hold there heat and continue to slide and wearing.

    Thanks

i didn't drive this setup, but here's a few things i see, might help.

    1) those springs front to rear balance will cause more workload on the front tires, a tight/understeer condition.
same spring size front to rear would make more sense on this car with it's weight distribution near 50/50
    2) smaller front anti roll bar would focus more work to the back tires.

    3) the steering lock is very wide 26*, too much lock will over work the front tires. (probably why the rear slides around so bad) ...i think this an effort to induce some oversteer to compensate for the tight condition caused by the springs/arb.

half the fun is building the setup, so i won't spoil anymore. :)

One of the few race tracks I've walked and rode all around. The track is a mess, concrete taxiways 12" thick, blacktop roadways 4" thick, the interfaces are launch zones and frame rattlers, sand is EVERYWHERE; in the seat, in the air cleaner, in your drink, there is a big lake near by and the fog and rain can roll in rather quickly sending ANY setup off into WTF land. So in reality, no setup will work here 2 times.

Things to remember, this IS a slippery track with flat and off cambered turns with some serious bumps. Non-symmetric tire pressure is likely to be your best tool. You MUST hit the turning points and breaking zones accurately and consistantly. Beware of blowing sand and fading grip. Instant chaos is likely. When it rains, it pours.

    I love/hate this track.
