Pretty nifty car, had a blat yesterday.

Thats pretty old, it has the skins i made for the original game, it shows the trully potencial of rf2 but sadly its illegal, it was converted IMHO for the best rf2 modder at this time oh and is not tommy86

 

Only the shape looked nice, it was a poor conversion from a very early model (and only one of the lods). The driving was off, sounds were bad, and texture conversion poor.

The car looks good, drives great- it's a lot of fun and matches well with the current GT3 mods. I wish it had a wider selection of tires, but otherwise, it is a brilliant car.

 

Well you do absolutely love the BES mod beyond all reason so I suppose you'd be not critical at all of quality.

That LMP mod with the Pescarolo is terrible in its current form. With some work on the balance and aero it could be good but no one has given a good going-over to fix it up.

Right now the audi R18 is the only really good LMP mod out there. Race07 had the same problem with a dearth of proto mods. I can't wait for the URD protos.

 

Oh I'd love the Aston... or for ISI to do the Speed 8.

 

Sorry, but imo Petra´s BES mod is one of the best rF2 mods

 

It's an ok mod but compared to the direct competition i.e. URD's EGT and Apex Modding's GT3, it simply doesn't compare. Rightfully so given those are scratch-built mods using accurate data.

BES mod in its original inception was already off in the driving in rF1. I don't know who created the models and the controversy of their use (ripped seemed to have been the source). In rF2 the shapes are still good, the textures are poor and many bits are missing and incomplete, the driving is skiddish with the cars not having a good feel (bite, grip, too much acceleration, poor FFB) and beyond that driving unlike their real counterparts seemingly do from real life videos as well as other licensed sim iterations. I wanted it to be good because of the car selection and I tried two supposedly 1.0 versions (one provided by a member that posted here) and both were severely underwhelming.

 

Yes we understand you don't like the mod. We still don't care. Back to the subject at hand. Audi R18. It is a conversion from pCARS even the pCARS skin templates work with it. But it is all we have for a complete and working prototype. The others out there all have fatal flaws.

 

Well, there's the MAK Corp 1991 Mazda.

 

I'd rather wait for the good stuff we know is coming.
