I only know of 0.86, but it only has 12 pit spots (at Spa!) And I'm looking for Spa (modern) with more than 20 pit spots. Anyone?
Very odd as I was making notes today of grid/pit spots/garages and the AIW has Pit Garages: 36 Grid Positions: 39 How did you come to 12? was it a restriction in game?
The problem with that one is it seems very badly optimized. Same framerate as Silverstone... Shame that no one had the means and time yet to properly port one over or scratch-build that most important of tracks... next to Silverstone, Monza and LeMans...
Yeah 3 per box is no good, and with that much space its unnecessary. We plan on having 20 drivers for our series and with forced pit stops, we need tracks with 20 pit boxes.
pretty sure mcnolo (i think that's his name), has reworked his version of Spa, but he doesn't like sharing much so its just for him.
Modern Spa is one of those tracks that every racing sim should have. It's just magnificent, and very important in real world racing. I hope we see a good version in rF2 soon.
Just after Blanchimont you had something, what looked like a huge "bus stop" (that's where the name came from): http://richardsf1.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/TheoldBusStopChicane.jpg
That was the change in '04? Yeah, I did like that chicane, for a chicane it was pretty fast. They have to really tippy-toe around the new config now.
made for F1RFT Liga Author: Sompir SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS_2013 v2.0 no direct dl link to provide, it was once available to the public. http://rfactor2.hu
I raced the Race07 version of Spa quite a bit and I got so used to the old layout that when I drive the modern layout, I have a heck of a time with the final bus stop. It's so awkward. The first time I drove this version we have for rF2 I came to the final section and I'm like wha? as I fly over the curb and wreck going WAY too fast! I like the old version better, but time moves on.
That was the Layout in NFS Shift... lots of time spent on that, and yes it was faster than the new "bus stop".
I didn't really get to race modern Spa since GP2. The modern one it seems like you're going too slow... For too long... Very awkward!
I loved the old original Bus-Stop chicane layout. Guys would blast through there on the curbing for the short run to La Source. It was always a good passing opportunity if you out-braked an opponent coming in. The new replacement is too 'clinical'. I'm always trying to find a good point of reference for braking...and it's never fun trying to unload the car for the immediate left turn.
