Occasionally I find 3rd party mods challenging to locate in rFactor2 due to some odd naming conventions. For example: -A thread is then posted to announce 'Supercar GTX67 1.0 download available!' -The downloaded filename is called GTX67.zip -The rfcmp is called Supercar_v1.0.rfcmp -It appears in mod manager as marvelharvey_SC_GTX -Finally, the in game menu item is hidden under 'Expensive Road Cars'> V12s > GTX67 I'm an idiot and the inconsistancy makes my brain confused, so I'd like to rename everything to something like: -Keep the rfcmp file the same 'Supercar_v1.0.rfcmp' -In mod manager it appears as 'Supercar_v1.0' -In game it appears under 'Supercar' menu as 'Supercar_v1.0' Is this kind of editing possible? How would one go about repackaging 3rd party mods? I only race against the AI, so I'm not bothered about breaking online.
Hopefully there's a way. As due to their menu-names, I keep forgetting that I've certain mods installed. Fingers crossed there's a solution.
You have to unpack the _teams.mas and edit the .veh files, then take all .mas files from mod and pack them with MAS2 tool, there you put the names you want.
... and you have to edit the *.rfm file, if it exists, for the mod name, but all that can only be done when the MAS-files are not protected. The much better way would be, if the modders would take more care for the naming.
OK, didn't try it yet. But nevertheless.... The much better way would be, if the modders would take more care for the naming
Haha his is so annoying. Sometimes I think a mod is broken, but then I just can't find it. And later I bump on it on accident.
