is it possible to create a lighting beam inside of the car?

(or simply a small lighting for a better illumination inside of the car)

    if yes.
What is the right material for it?

    any tutorial would be great!

    thanx

I think adding a third spotlight (same as headlights) inside the car would fix the problem. I never tried it, but it should work since the interior and exterior are the same models now.

I tried it, but it didn't work... I used lighting glare gmat and exported it with the same instance as front lights... is there any other solution? or should I use high luminance sun instead of lighting glare?

I honestly would not know an other way to dot his as rFactor does not support interior lights except from the gauges, but that is just texture based.

basically there is no reason to simulate interior light ;)
Does map plugin is not enough? Do you need to read paper map? ;-)

Actually to be realistic all those gauges on the dash should give off some sort of ambient light. Also it would be great for things like a shift light which is always very bright.

Only way I know of doing it is to fake it with extra polys and semi transparent textures, but that way is very limited and a pain to pull off.

Yeah.. true. gauges are lit but I even if physically emit some amount of light, it may be ignored cause reflections are not visible too much. Another story is shift light. But again it reflects from driver rather than other objects so.. again simulating such lights as real sources would be waste of computing power imo (especially until gfx engine it self has a lot of flaws)

However, refering to original post, I'm not sure his author wants to get realistic reflections of gauges only. I think there is something behind it ;)

    best regards

I disagree but it is just an opinion, every one has one.
