Is ISI developing a new RF3?

I partially agree, but to ultimately say that Assetto Corsa Evo is a failure when it's still 40% of the way through development and having tried everything they've done so far, shows that you're just talking for show ;)

I'd also add that rF3 could happen if ISI (+rFPro) returned and combined forces with 397 and maybe even Reiza, but MSGM isn't capable of producing an rF3 unless it's a marketing ploy and cloaking rF2 and LMU together in a work of magic.
ACEvo, on the other hand, isn't making the same mistake it made with AC (and rF1 too), leaving everything in the hands of modders. They're trying to develop a complete title that modders can also use... that's why they're behind in development, but all simracers should hope for this, especially looking back ......

Rfactor 2 remains the best simulator to this day even surpassing that of it's 'successor' LeMans Ultimate which imho complicated what was already perfected but needed a bit more polishing since it was a game way ahead of it's time. Hell, even RF1 when adjusted for time/technology & coding advancements was insanely too ahead of its time.
For a game such as rFactor 3 to be developed we would have to see an even more revolutionary advancement in physics handling engine as well as FFB/graphics that can stand another decade worth of simulation enjoyment.

As much as I'd wish for a third/final rFactor, I highly doubt it will come to fruition given that Motorsport Games has now put all their financial prospect "eggs in one basket", which is LMU.

On top of this, Motorsport games would need to put maximum effort into another 'niche' racing sim that will compete with aggressive titles that already saturate market share such as titles from iRacing studios and Kunos (UE5 cashgrab garbage now:p) but on a serious note, RF3 would need an extensive overhaul in all the above checkboxes wherein iRacing has slowly sharpened itself through several updates over the years into a strong simulator service and is just about to partially unveil a new graphics engine overhaul soon, just how they did over time with the in game overlays/HUD and vehicle license models.

Ultimately, MSGM developing a sequel to RF2 now and expecting them to not follow the paths of failed Project Motor Racing, AC Evo and Project Cars 3, is a pipedream and I think Motorsport games will just stick to updating and adding content to LMU in hopes it becomes the next ACC lol

rF2 really is best simulation still, and it is moddable, that is very nice. Online racing is also very good in rF2... if.... it happens.

rF2 picked from the start picked way too much to chew, but it almost got there... maybe it is by design not to have it all sorted out ever ever. It would be too perfect, and if people were able to realize it and pick it up, the consequences for devs would be MUCH MUCH worse than those made by AC. I mean everyone is still competing with AC, and will be for years - a defunct, closed up simulation, that should have been redundant by now, but as we can see people are weird... and developers are messed up.

rF1 was definitely ahead of its time, AMS1 was basically rF1 but polished, and IMO it is better sim than AC, but AC did a lot of things smarter.

There would be no significant revolutions in rF3 if it ever happens. Maybe little bit for marketing. And it would not be moddable. It would be another sim with planned obsolescence so it wouldn't accidently "trap" 50 000 simracers for two decades, not buying anything else and leaving everybody starving, while thousands of ripped content flows in and everyone loves mediocority of it.

I hope if rF3 happens, I hope it is paid by subscirbtions (steam probably doesn't support that ?), as rF2 was intended at the beginning. This then makes much better sense to not have it planned to become obsolete in like 5 years, close up modding and do all sorts of weird stuff instead of just simply keeping on making it as best as possible all the time...

On the other hand iRacing, as good as it is, and its development looking neat... they just can't truly make cars handle well, or can they do that now ?

For now it looks like MSG has lots of years of stuff to do for LMU, I wonder how it is going, I am not following.

I have all the sims games, but the only one that use is RF2. No matter how much I want to, I always go back to RF2, the only one that makes me feel like I'm behind the wheel of a car. I only use VR for simulators, but nothing, absolutely nothing, comes close to what we feel when driving in RF2. The loss of traction felt in FFB, the way we can use the brakes, how we can steer the car using the combination of brakes and steering wheel – it's quite realistic for me. My personal experience with cars is based on rally cars from the 70s and 80s, like the Ford Escort, Lancia Delta, Mini, Stratos, and some sports cars, like the 1975 Porsche 911 Turbo, Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo, Uno Turbo IE, Renault 5 Turbo and GT, Peugeot 205 1.6 and 1.9, VW Corrado G60 and VW G60 4x4... and many motorcycles. Of course, I destroyed many cars and bikes. Still waiting for a new Rfactor... but in the meantime RF2 is my best friend... I don't need a new, demanding car, when I can drive almost any car in RF2. From an 56 old guy.

ISI sold rfactor pro long time ago .......... anyway it's not the software it's the man.

Community ostracized them out of existence.

You reap what you sow o_O

If only you all supported them we probably have ISIMotor4.0 by now

Had never seen this before from Overtake thread, thanks CeeBee
