Introducing the New Online Experience for rFactor 2: Powered by RaceControl

you guys are lucky.

I am in Asia(Japan), opted in for the RC 2hrs ago, files downloaded so I started the Game and nothing. no ONLINE in the UI to access this new experience.
anything I am doing wrong? anyone in Asia that could tell me he/she experienced the same issue?

You don't have an online section on the main screen? Maybe restart steam or something, just worked fine here after selecting RC and completing the download.

I wouldn't think just being from Asia would prevent your sim from working correctly. I know some users with Region specific letters have often had issue with rF2, but that should apply to registering, not parts of the menu not updating. Go back to Steam, and swap back to NONE, then wait a short time for that action to complete. Then re-try choosing the Release Candidate. Make sure you watch the progress bar and let the Release Candidate fully load before trying to launch rF2.

Well my first experience was a bust. Signed up for the 4pm Pacific time race at Mores. 17 plus minutes sitting waiting for the server to start and I bailed. I also saw that I bad a dnf from yesterday for a race I registered for but had to miss. Chalk it up to growing pains....
If it says starting servers and nothing happens after a minute or so, return to the main menu then back to your event again and the join server button should be there. Known issue i believe.

In your situation I'd probably try verifying integrity. I often have to do that with the car updates. The suggestion above about reverting to normal build and back into RC, just to check that the download happens, may also help.

Other than that, hopefully by tomorrow it's sorted itself out.

Are you sure the game has been updated by Steam. Check the version number.

When checking the upcoming schedule for daily races I cant find info on track layout…
Practice servers are only up around race events (i think?) so I want to set up my own practice session in single player, but I cant seem to find the necessary info to get identical parameters regarding layout etc…

Is there something Im missing?

I am going to do a file integrity because still no ONLINE show this morning:oops:

That was a weakness of the old system as well. Perhaps joining the online practice session briefly could provide the answer. I don't know if signing up but not staying would affect any of the ratings.

I have registered but never arrives the email to confirm...no spam folder and address is valid, so i can not join...anyone else got this problem like me?

I didnt have the release candidate option listed under Betas and needed to run the file integrity before it was finally listed. Tried it this morning, everything went smooth, apart from my driving.

Absolutely awesome. Besides yellow boxes when players load in practice it works great.

Very good! That will put some heat into the online Simracing offers. Lets hope they all start to turn on the turbo in development.

Isn't there a key you can press to force the upload of the cars, for example while you travel down a straight?
:);)
